The first two issues of The Sacrificers read as prologue setting the stage with characters, settings, and a mystery that was never really a mystery to anyone who read the debut's solicit or the series' title. That inevitable turn finally arrives in The Sacrificers #3 and, while a larger mystery about the exact nature of this sacrifice remains, it seems to kick off the series. Read Full Review

I mean this in the best possible way, what an absolute gut punch of an issue. Remender and Fuimara do not hold back whatsoever as we finally see what it means to become one of the Sacrificers. This has been one of the two or three best new books of 2023 for me and I can't recommend it enough.

Three issues in and this is one of my favorite books on the stands. The effort put into worldbuolding is palpable. They arent making us wait long for the story to get moving.

We knew it was coming -- the sacrifices happened and the introduction to the gods were done well. I like the daughter and I was wondering why she wasn't in the last issue. I received my answer. Of course, the pigeon main character was not chosen. That was obviously contrived and it felt that way. It was an eye-rolling moment, but overall the book is interesting and we all know that the daughter and the pigeon are going to team up in some way. Looking forward to the next one.
