For a book that isn't my usual forte, I was pleasantly surprised at the who well done, how intricate in dealing with the Sophie's feelings and the ominous tones provided by knowing what has happened to not just Sophie's Lady Fleecs and Forstner have imbued in this book. Read Full Review

A series like this is so rare of a find, being able to cross so many genres and still be so enthralling and wholesome. Sophie's journey has already been so great, and to watch the mystery unravel is going to be something indeed, and I will be here for all of it, not just as a reviewer, but as a fan! Once again, the art here is brilliant. Forstners designs are equal parts Disney and Don Bluth, which makes for a nostalgic, yet tense read. Along with Brad Simpson on colors, Forstner puts a tremendous amount of energy into every page. The book is simply gorgeous from start to finish, with credit going to Tone Rodriguez and Lauren Perry, as well. If you havent picked up Stray Dogs yet, you owe it to yourself to pick it up. I had an idea that Stray Dogs would be an emotional rollercoaster for me when I read the first issue, and I was completely accurate in that assessment. Thing is, that's also accurate of issue #2, which punched me in the heart once again but in unexpected ways, making the impact all that much bigger. Read Full Review

Rusty is the out and out star of the series, the brave hero willing to take the punishment as well as lead the group. This unique take on the serial killer genre is a breath of fresh air. The creative team of Forstner and Fleecs obviously enjoyed every panel they wrote and drew and it shows with the comfortable style on display through this series. Read Full Review

Stray Dogs #2 is another solid issue that builds upon the mystery. It teases hints and answers but leaves readers guessing. It also builds a dread throughout that you're not quite sure about. A fantastic series with a familiar concept but a whole new perspective. Read Full Review

Whilst this second issue doesnt deliver quite the same knock-out punch for me that the debut did, Im still firmly enamoured by this series. The combination of the warm visuals and visceral horror that this evokes are as unsettling as they are engaging. Read Full Review

'Stray Dogs' #2 combines elements of 'Memento' and 'Rear Window' to great effect. Fleecs provides some anxiety-inducing situations that ramp up the tension and terror for our furry heroes. Stray Dogs has such a simple premise – the ‘what if we did a horror comic from the point of view of our trusted, beloved best friends‘ idea, where no horror is more terrible in a dog's life than their man or lady going missing.But it's how cleverly the issues are constructed, combined with the striking contrast between the horror concept and the classic animated look of the art, that marks it out as something genre-hoppingly good. Stray Dogs moves past the hook of its cartoonish artwork, delivering an incredibly tense murder mystery. It's funny that the characters aren't even human, yet we can relate to them just as much if not more than other stories out there. This book will pull you in completely. Read Full Review

Pencil/Ink: Good Writing: Great Story: Great Layout: Good Color: Great Lettering: Good The artwork is growing on me. The cuteness of the artwork offsets the creepiness of the story in an interesting mix. Love the dogs! Lots of character.

Stray Dogs Chapter 2: Good Girl Publisher: Image Comics @imagecomics Writer: Tony Fleecs @tonyfleecs Artist: Trish Forstner @trishforstner Colors: Brad Simpson @20eyesbrad New dog Sophie has made the accusation that her new master killed her former owner. But when Rusty offers to help investigate, Sophie’s memory of the event has escaped her. Realizing her memories are triggered by scent, Rusty retrieves Sophie’s scarf and the memory returns. While the master takes their fellow dog, Aldo, out for the day, Rusty and Sophie investigate the master’s secret room and are confused to find it filled with women’s clothing. Later when the dogs confront Aldo about his day he unknowingly explains they spent the day stalking a woman w hile Sophie sheds light that all the dogs might be here under similar circumstances. This is a hilarious concept. I can’t wait to see how dark this story goes. I’m super curious if and how these dogs will bring their new master to justice. Drawn like a Disney movie but written like Silence of the Lambs.
