    “Kings can only understand Kings”. This theme is prevalent as Duke comes face to face with the head of the Autobots in an incredible issue. Williamson brings forth a huge serving of action and deep drama for this encounter. Milana & Loughridge construct amazing work to elevate this special encounter even higher.     Hound is a cool addition to the series. One of the first eve Autobots was a U.S. Army Jeep. It makes perfect sense that he would want to hang out with G.I. Joe under the circumstances. His presence in the Energon Universe G.I. Joe title feels like a really, really nice fusion. It’s the type of integration that really serves to maintain a continuity within the universe that’s going to be fun to follow as things progress. Read Full Review

Joe #20 delivers less of a bombastic crossover clash and more of a quiet emotional detonation, which is a smart play if you care about Duke as a fully realized protagonist instead of a moving piece on a nostalgia chessboard. The issue nails the five basics with a clear focal character, a goal that collapses in front of him, a physical and emotional journey, personal and global stakes, and both human and Cybertronian obstacles that force genuine change rather than cosmetic team-ups.
