Two issues into the series and Burcham and Burnham are already telling a nice reboot that honoursBeast Warsfor its 25th anniversary. There are plenty of familiar aspects, but neither of them are afraid to deviate to add in new parts to the mythology for new readers or to give longtime fans a fresher experience. Wood Editors: @tomwaltz1 , David Marriotte & Riley Farmer The Beast Wars have begun! The Maximals and the Predacons have crash landed on a strange new planet. Not only do they have to worry about each other, they must worry about what or who surrounds them. They will soon find out that they are not alone. In order to figure out how to survive the new planet, as well as each other, they have to explore their surroundings while learning about their all new Beast Modes. In this second issue of Beast Wars, we are introduced to a third party to the conflict between the Maximal s and Predacons. The early arrival of such a well-known element of the old show is definitely surprising but of course welcomed. It’s definitely a surprise that I didn’t see coming. This issue had little action but it did focus on character development. Seeing the new characters interact with the originals from the show was great and they feel as if they’ve always been a part of the team. I absolutely love the artwork in this series as it stays true to the original television show. This issue absolutely hits you with the nostalgia and fans of the show should be please this far! While not as strong as the debut issue, it's much more intriguing. The story is already going in its own direction, bringing in elements from much later in the Beast Wars for more cohesion even if it's not as well written as I would've liked. What is by far the best part of the issue, aside from the art which I've gotten used to since #1, is the character dynamics. From old favourites like Dinobot and Tarantulas to the newly added characters such as Nyx. Recommended, Yeeessss.

Unlike the original series, we get a look behind the scenes early on to make better sense of the grand experiment happening on Earth. The artwork still bothers me though. Some characters, Scorponok and Optimus Primal in particular, are practically unrecognizable.
