Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #74

TMNT #74 (The Trial of Krang part 2 of 3) is a really interesting intergalactic courtroom drama that once again places the Turtles in a very dangerous scenario in Dimension X. The writing team does a fantastic job with the courtroom scenes and even with everything going on it does not seem to drag on or linger longer than needed. The art team continues to do a fantastic job and I love all of these crazy creatures we get to see in the wide world of Dimension X. Just when you thought the war is over and Krang is going to jail, here comes Krang with his slick lawyer. Things really are not looking good for the Turtles and Co. as now the trial has been stopped. What will Krang think of next that will get him out of this trial? What was great to see was the new allies that came to the aid of Zak, Kala, and the Turtles. Seeing these new allies and what they asked for at the end will be something that we must keep a close eye on. Nothing is going right for what was supposed to be the trial of the century; in the end, can the Turtles and their friends put Krang away or will Krangs assassin end the trail before it really goes underway? I've discovered that next month's issue is going to 40 page long! Lots of space to craft a compelling finale to this story I hope. With Hakk-R, Triceratons, Krang, Nutrinos, Honeycutt all involved, it's a a pretty crazy time for the TMNT. Getting to #75 is quite the milestone, and one that IDW fully deserves to reach. The Dimension X is sort of necessary to read to know who all these characters are... But if you're just in this for the main plot and don't care about these characters that we'll likely never see again, go ahead and skip that Dimension X series and plow through this one, it'll be fine.

yet another very exposition-heavy issue, as well as felling like yet another issue that the Tmnt just feel like bystanders in their own story.
maybe the writers are too busy freaking out that this has been the longest running Tmnt comic ever?
or maybe they just don't realize exactly how disappointing this series has gotten?
the art is pretty weak, and so is my interest in the Trial of Krang.
