TMNT #73 is a wonderful start to a new story arc! With Krang set to go on trial the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are on another adventure in Dimension X. Will they be able to stop Hakk-R or will Krang out smart everybody! IDW's TMNT is now the longest ongoing TMNT comic series ever with this Issue and the team is just getting started on more crazy adventures for the brothers. For the geek references alone I'd rank this issue highly, but it's also a well put together issue that proves that whilst IDW TMNT may now have been running longer than any other series, but it's still got plenty of fuel in the tank. Read Full Review

I never thought I would see the day that Krang would be in prison and going to trial for what he has done. But if you know General Krang, he always has a plan under his pink tentacles. The Ninja Turtles are awesome as they bicker with each other as they always do, which feels genuine and not out of place. With their new mission at hand we must see if the brothers can bring back the witnesses or will Krang go free? Cowabunga dudes! This is going to be a shell of a ride. Read Full Review

It's a pretty exposition-heavy start to this conflict, especially with the way so many returning characters enter the stage. Even so, this issue makes for an exciting start to this new chapter of the series. Read Full Review

Congrats on this run for being the longest run of ongoing TMNT comics to date, despite this being a time for constant reboots in comics. What an accomplishment, I think it is all owed to the consistent quality that the creators bring to this series. I'd highly recommend reading the 2017 Free Comic Book Day issue of TMNT before starting this issue, consider the FCBD issue as number 72.5, because it leads right into this issue and you'll feel like you missed something between #72 and #73 otherwise. I'm exited to see a couple old favourites in the cast and what promises to be a new favourite villain.

a big set-up issue filled with LOTS of exposition, and not much happening till the end of the issue.
some very funny moments, but i can't say i'm overly excited to re-read this issue again any time soon.
