Darkwing Duck #2 is another fun issue that'll leave readers excited to pick up the next one to see where the team takes the series. It's not just a villain of the week story, there looks to be a bit of an ongoing narrative as well which can take the series and characters to the next level. The issue is full of Darkwing fighting off toys, primarily a wave of rubber duckies, while struggling to keep Gosalyn safe (more on that later) and finally subdue Quackerjack. It's just the kind of wacky fun fans of the character expect and I'll admit to enjoying Lauro's art more in this issue. Read Full Review

The pacing in this issue could better. The action in fighting Quackerjack and his toys is exciting, but after Quackerjack is defeated, the ending seems a bit anticlimactic, and it could be difficult to follow without the dialogue. The story flows well, for the most part, but the ending seems kind of abrupt and out of the blue, not really being hinted at earlier. That being said, it seems appropriate that Drake changes into Darkwing in a photo booth, playing at his massive ego. Quackerjack could have had a bit more dialogue though. You can definitely hear the voices of Jim Cummings, Michael Bell, Terry McGovern and Christine Cavanaugh coming through the dialogue of their respective characters. Read Full Review

This second issue has plenty of laughs to be found, while also introducing some interesting elements when it comes to Darkwing Duck's future, while humorously revealing how Drake Mallard has been surviving over the years when his only job is to patrol St. Canard's skylines. Read Full Review

I absolutely loved this comic for all the lovely references to Superhero Comics of the past. Well written and beautifully crafted story for young and old fans alike.

Another solid issue. This one confirms were in a different continuity, but that continuity is pretty much identical to the original. The art style matches really well with the aesthetic of the show and all the characters voices are on point. Keep this up

This comic keeps the wit and amusement of the original cartoon alive and well. The story was full of excitement and laughs. As I'd hoped Darkwing is once again one of the most amusing comics around today. They did a great job showing us how overprotective a parent Drake Mallard is. But it is understandable since not every father is a superhero, and not every child is as energetic and fearless as Gosalyn either. This issue left off with a great prelude to our next adventure. We've already seen Darkwing hang up his costume for Civilian life before in the Boom series (though that was under completely different circumstances), but I look forward to seeing how he deals with it this time. This issue brings up the interesting question few fans br ought up in the '90s because they were too young to even consider it, but Gosalyn finally asked how drake supported them without a real job. He gave a humorous reply, but I read a while back that his main means of support was that he was actually paid by SHUSH for his services. As always with a Darkwing book I can't wait for the next issue. Not only is Drake going to have to fight the temptation to return to crime fighting, but Bushroot's going to return. Stories with him are usually fun, so I expect it to be, just like this issue was. more
