Wonder Woman #762

Though he's clearly a heroic villain here, Max Lord isn't quite appealing enough to be an anti-hero status. Still, the entire team does really well with Wonder Woman's supporting cast, including a sinister neighbor girl, her pet rabbit, and what might be the single most appealing treatment of Etta Candy to have made page or screen thus far. Carlo Barberi does some great work with the art in this issue. Not only does the art look fantastic, but Barberi captures the energy and power of Wonder Woman brilliantly. The action is fantastic as well. There are great shots throughout and the panels are filled with detail. A great looking issue. Read Full Review

Tamaki has set up an impressive initial arc and the payoff next issue should be solid, based on everything shes delivered so far on one of DCs most important titles. Read Full Review

Wonder Woman #762 was another fun issue. Mariko Tamaki moves the story of Liar Liar at a strong pace with very little filler content. Specifically, the interactions between Wonder Woman and Maxwell Lord drive the investment in the story that Tamaki is developing. The strong chemistry between these two characters and the use of past DCU continuity creates greater interest in whatever plans Tamaki has for run moving forward. Read Full Review

Like many fans, I want the Wonder Woman. book to be fantastic. I want it to blow my socks off the way that the Batman book does! Looking over the whole run, I don't think that has never happened. With Tamaki on writing, Diana has a chance, the stories have to have a big impact, bigger ramifications. In addition, the art needs to be more consistent. With a new movie waiting in the wings, this should be a great time for Dc to push Wonder Woman as the icon she can be, rather than the middle of the road book she currently is. Read Full Review

Wonder Woman #762 doesn't push the overall narrative ahead much but instead repeats things we saw and know already.  Liar Liar does introduce herself to Diana and Maxwell by the end of the issue, but that's about it.  The art is good, but I need a bit more story progression to recommend this to anyone. It still pretty good, I am impressed. The art certainly became better since the last issue, the paneling as well is top notching in this issue. This issue introduces a brand new character, with a big revelation. Tamaki has some exceptional skill in conveying the ideas and themes of this arc through her narration, tying it with Wonder Woman. There is some good action here with all the hallucination going on, by I feel by now we have probably seen enough and move the story along. Still, another good issue. Although I need more pages for 3.99.
