The art from Chang and Hanna is great. There isn't a lot of action because the story is more character focused, but the backgrounds look amazing and every panel is filled with stunning detail. Read Full Review

The creative team did a great job utilizing color to heighten the emotions of each scene. My favorite panel was the slow realization Damian has which eventually brings him to tears. The scene was subtle and heartbreaking. I enjoyed how the artist used highlighting to evict the conflicting emotions of desire and loss. It was a somber issue as a whole, but once we see tears fall down Damian's face, it was already a chosen fate. I'm excited to see how the gang will handle their adventure and how fate will reveal even bigger sacrifices later in the arc. Read Full Review

Teen Titans #38 was terrific and felt like the end of an era. Next issue sees the debut of a new art team, and a new co-writer, in the shape of Eduardo Pansica (Supergirl) and Robbie Thompson (Spider-Man/Deadpool). Eduardo has some big shoes to fill, but I'm a huge fan of Robbie's work already. I'm sure that the Teen Titans' future is in safe hands, but with a title like “Djinn Wars” we know that life won't be getting any easier for our adolescent adventurers any time soon. While I was underwhelmed with the end of The Other and even some of the art this issue, there were some really great parts with Damian Wayne that get me really excited for not only Robin's attitude going forward, but with how the rest of the Teen Titans will interact with him going forward.  Read Full Review

Teen Titans wraps up its arc about The Other in a way that makes me wish the series as a whole had been stronger so that the conclusion of this arc would hit harder. It's not bad, and it sets the story up for a new, fresh adventure for the team. It's also at the point where Teen Titans feels like it has a functional team at last. Now, they're not individuals, but kids who can work together despite their differences. I'm excited to see where the story goes now that the threat of The Other has been done away with and they can move into unknown territory. Read Full Review

Prelude: After a passable issue last time, can Glass keep up the momentum and improve upon that score? The Good: I like Damian's conversation with Djinn. Damian is great in this issue. Chang's art is a lot better. Might be due to the fact he did the layouts while Scott Hanna did the finishes. The Bad: I feel that it was tied up a bit too fast and with little consequence for Roundhouse's actions. From what we know so far, this might be the last time we see The Other and I'm disappointed by his defeat. Conclusion: It's a lot more Damian focused but I like it that way. This issue zeroes in on Damian and it works.

A passable conclusion. I have generally liked this series but it is often hit or miss and this one I would say is near the middle.

Literally how hard is it to say “yo my dude for sure I will take up your mantle after you die, love doing murders and shit” and then just not do that?! It’s not that hard! It’s actually really easy! It’s called lying, y’all should maybe look it up sometime?!
