Superman: Son Of Kal-El #11 continues this books run of excellence. Taylor builds a great little story in this one. Its very well-paced, ramping up as the book goes on. I hope the conversation between Jay and Jon picks up. Maybe Jon feels he has to break up with Jay, that their politics and the lengths they will go are too different. Maybe Jon will inspire Jay and the Revolutionaries. As long as this is addressed, I'll be happy.  But that hope doesn't diminish how much I liked this. Great issue. Read Full Review

Son of Kal-El is at its best when it's focused on Jon learning the ropes of being a hero and actively seeking out assistance/establishing relationships in the superhero community. This was another example of why this title is one to keep an eye on through 2022. Read Full Review

While recently I've felt like this series has been running in place, since I'm still waiting for The Rising to happen, what we get here in place of a lot of progression is a ton of heart and a ton of characters just being their best selves and I'm all here for that. Good, quality issue features a lot of great superhero stuff and a lot of great personal, human stuff. Though part of me is a little disappointed that Jon Kent is being treated with kid gloves. I wouldn't mind more personal conflict and drama. Read Full Review

I think I prefer #10 but this series is hitting the point where we seem to be reaching the climax of the Bendix arc.

I really enjoyed this series, and Tom Taylor is one of the writers that make me like Jon Kent. Art could be improved though

Some great character moments sprinkled throughout. The plot's moving forward. A little messy towards the end but the stage's been set for a confrontation. The mixed artwork on this series has been too inconsistent for my liking, but it gets the job done enough. Let's see what happens next issue.

I still dont know what they're doing in this comic book. Arguably the most well known character in DC and probably the second one most popular, Superman, and they still can't seem to hire a good artist. Anyways, while the art is kinda lacking, the writing is also lacking

This is one of the better books of this run, but how tf is Jon Kent ok with Jay working with known murderers…even if they ended a war Clark would’ve gave Lois the boot. Truth, Justice and the American Way, my ass..smh

Did this series crack the top 50 last month? Nope, so that makes what the 5th month in a row this series is falling flat? This series needs to be mothballed and the real Superman needs to have multiple series running again. 4 books, 1 issue a week.

The book is a bait and switch. It uses Superman on the cover to make the reader believe they're getting a fantasy/adventure book then it proceeds to give them a lecture, with a guy in a red cape punching something occasionally to be allowed to keep Superman on the cover. What reader will keep paying to read that?

I'm glad you brought up Action Comics because I do believe that Phillip K. Johnson is making a mess of that book too. I get it he wants the big story to sell the trade paperback but to do that he is ignoring the quality of the weekly story. So yeah I still want new writers and a return to the 4 series/weekly format. Lastly, the top 50 sales is a good indicator and really the only indicator of how well or poorly a book is doing,

No, it's not. You don't have numbers. And as I said, it's the TOP 50 out of 400, if Son of Kal-El is at #70, with 30k, it's a good number. Several characters have 30k like their normal, Daredevil, Nightwing, Flash. And nowadays you have the digital sales, and Son of Kal-El always does well on Amazon weekly sales.

I get my numbers on what is available to the general public (I've included a link) I didn't see the series in Amazon's top 100 sellers either. So I don't know what you're basing your viewpoint on. Taylor was pushing the Amazon top 100 a couple of months back. The reality is the book is selling poorly other than gimmuck issues which spike for that month. Same as you noted the LCS I go to the book is not selling. Now to be fair the only DC books that are selling well are the batman books.
