But this is a good cliffhanger. I have to assume the physical threat will end quickly leaving the rest of the pages to sort out all the other plot threads. Will Kandor end up in the Fortress? Regrown on Rokyn? This series has been something special. I am sad to see it go and can only hope we get more. I want a sequel already! And maybe put this team on a Supergirl '84 book! There is no doubt that SUPERMAN 78 #5 is a must-read making this series and eventual trade a must-buy for any SUPERMAN fans collection. Classic enthusiasts will certainly get the feels, Donnerverse buffs will find the renderings uncanny, current SUPERMAN fans can see some foundation takes, and new readers can still find one heck of an outstanding story. Superman '78 #5 does a great job ramping up the stakes and anticipation of Brainiac dooming all of Metropolis with only Superman capable of saving the day. As penultimate issues go, Superman '78 will make you feel like a kid again in a new way. Read Full Review

The '70s are back with a vengeance as the creative team take the opportunity to pepper this plot driven issue with bits and pieces to which children of that decade will thrill. It all goes hand in hand in developing the look and feel of the series as a continuation of the films. An all round delight of a comic. If you don't hear the John Williams score soaring along with Superman, you may not have a soul.

This comic continues to be written perfectly in tune with the films and gorgeously illustrated. There’s something really special about Wilfredo Torres’ art in this series. I caught myself dreaming how great it would be if he would accompany Alan Moore on a third year of Supreme. Can’t believe we only have one issue left! :(
