Supergirl Annual #2

This was a strong issue that really drove home how much we should hate Batman Who Laughs. We also see just how much we should be afraid of this new Supergirl. The art by Laura Braga is almost universally strong, but her Batman Who Laughs isn't quite up to the rest of the issue " he looks oddly chunky and cloaked, instead of the horrific angular monster he usually is. But as both a lead in to Kara's new status quo and a strong solo issue, it's one of the best Supergirl issue in a while. Read Full Review

The art by Laura Braga is pretty fantastic and works perfectly with the script. There is a dark twist at the end that I wasn't expecting and that I was lukewarm on. It feels a little forced. I love this flashback story of Supergirl's last day on Krypton. I like the new wrinkles that Robert Venditti throws in. I can easily ignore the more unsavory New 52 last day. And the art perfectly fits the story. All that I love. But all this darkness? And Supergirl again giving in to the temptation of evil as a way to harden herself? I am kind of sick of it. Its a fun novelty to see Kara before the tragedy that would come to define her life on Earth. The menace of the reality of whats going on isnt nearly as strong as it should be to deliver the darkness that launches this issue into the next chapters in the life of Supergirl. Theres so much more that could have been delivered in a look back at Karas earlier life. Read Full Review

This issue was a bit unnecessary and didn't really add anything to the current story. In addition, it repeats a familiar story with a twist so obvious that the readers will get the gist of the entire issue within the first few pages. The art is pretty damn good at least. Read Full Review

It's an interesting story, even if one that feels too familiar (and at one point even has a really odd placement of a Spider-Man joke), but it continues something that has been far too done with Supergirl stories as of late: focuses entirely on her survivor's guilt. Read Full Review

Very good story, would be great if after Supergirl who laughs story, we see again Argo City and Kryptonopolis in the new Krypton of Zod. If that happens would be cool to see a story of Kara and Rix feel in love again. If that happens, I only hope Rix don't turn bad like others Kara's love interest.

Krypton was a bit too Earth-like for my liking, but other than that it was a pretty decent story.
