Supergirl #36 has a few moments where they give us information. However, we get clues that Supergirl has to handle multiple villains all at once. Her return to earth is bringing her trouble, and future issues will bring us even more of the confrontations we need. Read Full Review

Its standard offworlder/earth people superhero/super-villain stuff. Nothing terribly new here, but Kara feels aggressively heroic in a very admirably-executed example of the type of stuff that has been floating and flowing through the superhero genre for decades. Andreyko and Pansica continue to do Kara justice even if she seems to be searching for something more defining...the way she always has. The long sought-after brilliant Supergirl story is out there. It's a comic that has to juggle way too much, and Kara's solid characterization and some good fight scenes are largely lost. Jody Houser will be returning to the title just in time for Supergirl to be corrupted, but hopefully she gets to stick around long enough to tell her own stories. Read Full Review

A run of the mill superhero fight scene fills most of this issue making it feel like a filler issue. Exciting artwork almost makes up for the unimaginative plot. Read Full Review

Supergirl continues to lean on the Leviathan Rising storyline but we are finally progressing at a pace where new readers who haven't read that story will be able to follow along more easily. We get more action and story progression in this book and it's pretty entertaining all around. It's far from perfect but it was an enjoyable read that will tide me over until next month's issue. Dialogue was pretty good! But story eh not so much. To find out Eliza is still alive is a bit of a let down. Trying to do the Leviathan and Year of the Villain in the same issue is over do it! Plus next issue we might get how she gets infected, too much!
