Redondos art is so well suited for this version of the team. Hes established the new characters strongly with some basic visual cues like the short burst speedster Jog actually has a beer gut while Deadly Six has a smooth air to him. This series of Suicide Squad has been a thrill ride. And, this installment keeps up that pace. The dynamic of the squad has never seen days like this. A civil war is brewing inside the group. That tension is creating a healthy dose of suspense. Calling this a powder keg is an understatement. This is a nuclear warhead falling from 2,000 feet and zooming closer to impact. Rest assured, you are investing in the same high-octane action, violence, and shock. Better yet, this is Suicide Squad which starts off on a better note than most with momentum and high stakes from the get-go. Tom Taylor continues showing off his new characters with a story that suddenly became more personal.  Bruno Redondo's art is excellent, and there is a mystery brewing about what this Suicide Squad is.  I liked it, I am just waiting to love it, but unfortunately, I'll have to wait a little bit longer. It has been a solid few opening issues for sure, but with the bulk of the narrative now seemingly hinging on new Waller Lok a character who has shown himself to be blindingly one-dimensional to this point it remains to be seen whether Taylor can keep this books head above water as its run continues. There is a saying about too many cooks in the kitchen ruining the meal. Well, that is on full display in Suicide Squad #3. Seriously, I am not sure what is going on, who is in charge or why I should care. The charm of the Squad is that they band together not fight it out with each other. Sure, there is tension, but tension can be played upon. This is not that and it just doesn't work. It is only issue 3 in a new run, so I will give it a chance. Prelude: Suicide Squad has been great with its first two issues so let's see how Taylor goes with this one. The Good: Got some character to Lok here. Love the Revolutionaires as always. Deadshot and Harley were great too. Redondo's art was great. The Bad: Nothing. Conclusion: Taylor is known for his characters and it shows here. Wonderful work as always.

Sweet mother of mercy, I couldn't think that the book could get better and deeper than #2 but Taylor did it. Combine that great story with excellent art and you have perhaps the best book DC is publishing right now.

This is the Suicide Squad we deserve. Not the half-assed soap opera Rebirth started with, not the live action face tattooed Hot Topic abomination. Oh, man, is it good. For once every team member has purpose, some more obvious than others, but all equally important, there's a bigger story unraveling, and a real conflict that deconstructs the tired trope of US government using supervillains for risky, secret missions. We're past that, we know the US government is way worse than that in real life, so introducing a new, mor complex dynamic, ideological conflict and power struggle, it refreshes this franchise so, so much. This new Suicide Squad is not precisely what I wanted the series to be - it exceds my expectations, is way more than I origin ally have thought Suicide Squad could realistically be. What a blast, absolutely recommend this run. Tom Taylor is doing wonders with this run. more

"That's okay. I talk enough for multiple people" This was a total blast. After so much time, DC is again releasing a book that I am genuinely excited about. (The above statement did not count the masterpiece that is Doomsday Clock) Wonderfull art, a great ensemble of characters that play off each other very well, good dialogue and a story that continuously keeps you engaged. Awesome.

The squad is given hell of a machine which is none other to infiltrate and kill where Scale and Shark are forced to work together settling out their differences.The book as usual involves surprise death and much more.So in the end yet another SS mission to enjoy !

Shark, which should've been King Shark gets killed faster than I expected. I thought Fin was going to kill him about half way through this maxiseries but no! It happened half way through this issue & it was brutal. really enjoy the banter between between Deadshot, Harley & The revolutionaries. They're talks bring subtle commentary on the nature of Task Force X, Floyd & Harley's role, & just what they truly represent. A lot of tension in this issue & a lot of reveals in this as well. Who is Lok working for? etc. My only complaint about this issue is that it felt very convenient for current sitting president of whatever country they're in, is the mother of Aerie. I understand we don't know much about the Revolutionaries & i'm sure I'l l learn more as the story story goes on, but that one moment just felt timely. more

Is it funny and well written? YES! Hows the Art? Its Amazing. So whats the problem? C list knock off No names.... Instead of Harley or really any DC character we get Chaos Kitten and Big Muscle Woman. A speedster named Jog who has that almost required bad boy attitude speedsters seem to need. I dont know I guess it would have been better had one of them died in a cool way or something since I assumed thats why we would have these characters in the first place. Instead they become the main attraction in a mental chit chat episode and we kill off King Shark... it was bizarre because it had some great moments just not with anyone great.

I personally like that not all characters are big names. It introduces tensions the initial Rebirth run lacked. Anything can happen to anybody, no one is safe, and also, new personal stories can be told now, instead of rehashing the same plots over and over again.

*Shew* Great start, a dumb founding middle, and ends strong. I enjoy the artists work but the writer has not won this fan of The Suicide Squad.
