In fact, this is one of those things you need to read even if you have no idea about the most recent Robin run. 'Robin 2021 Annual' #1 peels back the curtain to give a better look at some of the Lazarus Island fighting tournament contestants, as well as fits a fan-favorite legacy character back into the world at large. While getting background on characters months after the fact in an Annual feels weird, it was definitely appreciated here because I'm a fan of so many of the supporting cast of Robin that I'm all about seeing more of them here, especially Flatline. Some of the others, who seem to be here for filler..... not so much, but this is a great-looking book that gives us some much-needed background on some great characters. Read Full Review

An excellent issue again, still the best book by DC currently. seriously looking forward to the shadow war and later in 2022 and lastly really hoping for a Batman and Robin come back like Morrison and Tomasi's runs.

Even in an annual Williamson continues to kill it in arguably DC’s best ongoing series right now. The issue does a great job of giving quick overviews of characters most readers aren’t as familiar with while also teasing the “Shadow War” event for 2022

This was fun, I felt like Williamson didn't take this story seriously and that helped, especially when the stories involve Damian, who takes himself waaaay too seriously.
