One bullet robbed Nightwing of his memories and identity. One bullet erased Dick Grayson and replaced him with Ric Grayson. Now, with Dick’s true identity returned, KGBeast is back with one last bullet for him. Using Bea as bait, KGBeast has made it abundantly clear that this one last bullet isn’t intended for Nightwing’s head-this one is aiming to puncture his broken heart!

So frustrating, but in a good way for readers. I just want to read more about Dick's declension into Bruce-dom. Read Full Review

Nightwing #76 is a much needed issue where we finally see Nightwing let loose on KGBeast after all that fallout from the shooting. This was such an emotional roller coaster -- it did utilize a classic lone hero trope, but it was played very nicely by the creative team to make it worthwhile. Read Full Review

The story is pretty damn good. Jurgens does a solid job here, and it all feels pretty right. The art by Cliquet is pretty good as well. Overall, this is a solid issue of a series that is on the upswing. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - William J. Jackson

All said Nightwing #76 is shaking off the old to move forward. This issue will perhaps startle as well as settle old scores and is definitely worth a look. If you quit on Nightwing in the recent past, pick it up again. See what sticks and what falls off. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

Nightwing #76 is easily the best issue of Dan Jurgens run on this series. Jurgens and Ronan Cliquet reminded fans why when Nightwing is at the top of his game he is one of the best superheroes around. The ending, while heartbreaking, does provide the character and series to get a fresh start in whatever form Nightwing returns in March 2021. Read Full Review

The final curtain falls on the Ric Grayson era in a story that emphasizes Jurgens' strengths as a writer"but also the overall weakness of the status quo he had to work with. Read Full Review

Dark Knight News - Steve J Ray

    Nov 18, 2020

Nightwing #76 broke my heart, but it was still a brilliantly drawn, and entertaining comic. The visuals get a full 5/5 from me, but the writing – largely because of what I've touched on – gets a 2/5. Hey, it all still turned out a heck of lot better than the Spider-Man “Clone Saga”… Read Full Review

Its a shame Jurgens opted not to keep some elements of the Nightwings arc intact as this return to the absolute status quo feels like a step backwards for a title that admirably handled whats become a cliche storyline. Read Full Review

Nightwing #76 gives us a bit of everything. We see the most heroic and noble version of Dick Grayson we all know and love. However, he makes some choices that remind us who raised him and the life he is choosing to live. Is Bea being moved out of the way to make room for Babs? Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Michael Escalante

    Nov 17, 2020

Nightwing #76 is a technically competent comic that goes in a few disappointing directions. While many fans will be glad to see Nightwing back, Jurgens finds himself in a tough position of deciding what to keep from the "Ric Saga" and what to break free from. In my opinion, some wrong choices were made but your mileage may vary in that regard. If anything, the series is set to grow stronger from here on out, now that the push and pull of Dick's identity crisis is in the rear view mirror. Read Full Review

The arc ends in a way one likely sees coming and even then, it still carries more heart and courage than most of the past 20-plus issues. But again, the best part of the issue, by and far, is the fact Ric Grayson is dead"of course, until he isn't. Read Full Review

    Weird Science - Jim Werner

    Nov 17, 2020

After waiting so long to get Nightwing back, Dan Jurgens reminds us about how and why this book sucked for 2+ years and got rid of one of the only bright spots from those dark times.  The art is good enough, but I am just left wondering why DC keeps treating loyal fans like they hate them.  Casual fans and reviewers (just look above this blurb on the roundup) may be fooled by this, but true Nightwing fans deserve way more!
