After the epic conclusion to the Burnback saga, it's clear that while he may have forgotten his past, Ric Grayson's innate skills and instincts as a team leader elevate Team Nightwing to a new level. But what does that mean for the Blüdhaven PD, and what does that mean for a man who is looking to live a life without the baggage of his past to hold him down? Ric seeks comfort in Bea's arms, but may find answers in another's Talons as we dive headlong into the Year of the Villain! Plus, Lex Luthor delivers the Court of Owls the means to own what they covet most: Ric Grayson.

A lot of people have signed off this series, but I hope people will be willing to give it a chance because as far as things look, things are only getting better. Read Full Review

This is a nicely paced issue. The art is especially good by Ronan Cliquet. I hope he stays on awhile. While I wish that we can give Dick back to being himself, Jurgens and Cliquet make the most of what they were given. It makes for a really compelling story indeed. Read Full Review

Once again the writing in the issue is fantastic! It's a slower issue, but reads at a quick pace. This issue does well in setting up a future for Ric and the Nightwings, and I'm really looking forward to seeing where it goes. Read Full Review

Lastly, it looks like the Nightwings have put the "Is the Cabbie good or bad" conversation to bed, which is a little disappointing. Like Ric pointed out, it takes four people to do the job of the real Nightwing. Wouldn't it be fun to see those four people take on the real Nightwing? Read Full Review

Jurgens is improving this title a lot, but it's still loaded with cliches and this upcoming storyline has the chance to go down a very bad path. Read Full Review

There's nothing noticeably bad about this issue, but it's the first in a while that makes me wonder how long the new Nightwings arc can last. Under the current setup, I'd say not that much longer, but maybe Jurgens has some tricks to reinvigorate this creative decision once again? Read Full Review

This is basically the Heroes Reborn version (and we saw how well that worked out for Marvel) of Nightwing so take that as you will. But Dan Jurgens is a ray of hope in an otherwise bleak situation. Read Full Review

I love the art and I'm interested in the story going forward from the Offer that was presented at the end of the book, not to mention that there's some character development here that feels like a cool direction for the character.  It's just too bad that a lot of this issue was just recapping Ric's amnesia in a way that felt like it needed to beat the idea in my head again and again.  It's also too bad that the Nightwing Squad had so little to do that they stood around and just reiterated what they talked about last issue. The highpoint of this issue for me was the meeting of the four replacement Nightwings,in which they raise concerns over their mysterious allys backstory. Honestly,Im surprised its taken them this long to question his origins andmotivations, but Im glad its finally happened. Read Full Review

Once again, DC appears to be tripping over dollars to pick up pennies. They were so desperate to make Dick different in an attempt to make him interesting, and this issue continues to prove that they're not really doing anything different with him at all. The sad thing is, if you're going to create an experiment like this, then you need to go for it. Don't get cold feet and half-ass your attempt. Go big or go home. Read Full Review
