Benjamin Percy is one of my favourite current comic book writers. He strings his reader's along for a wild ride. He'll sprinkle little clues throughout the comic and expect you to keep up with them. He doesn't write the comic to ease the reader's experience, he writes it as if you were Dick Grayson, which is a breath of fresh air in this day and age. Read Full Review

All in all, Bleeding Edge was a solid arc. With some of the iconic characters (like Grayson), you have to ease yourself in a bit. He's not the same kid (Burt Ward) that was the butt of every Batman joke ever made. He's a complex character, and if you do too much too fast, the internet will rage (see:Titans trailer). The thing that excites me the most about this series is the fact that they kept calling the Bld a beta test. They are prepping for more. The next step seems to take us back to Bat home, and I can't wait to see how that will play out! Read Full Review

Nightwing #47 is at once familiar in its fabric and forward-thinking in its attempt to push technology into Nightwing's world, with a combination of gritty live action and glossy splash panels. Its an ambitious mix that can be thrilling while it lasts, and yet it fails to linger for long afterward, leaving you wondering what its point is beyond validating the insularity of techno-nerd fandom. Nightwing #47 would have been a far more compelling comic if it had addressed the fantasy of the Ludite Fallacy that so many have these days at its center. Read Full Review

I think this arc could've been a bit better when a bit more thought put into it. I don't like how Willem just shows up and is tossed like a pawn when we were already shown the villain that clearly has big plans for Nightwing. The arc overall feels more like a filler that current fans will still find some enjoyment but it's nothing that can grab new readers. Hopefully, the next arc picks things up and we see a return of the Dark Web because I do believe there's a great story to be told with this villain. Read Full Review

Nightwing #47 won't blow anyone away. There are a lot of good ideas presented in this issue. That along with Benjamin Percy's writing of Nightwing and Batgirl's dynamic helped elevate story that was presented. I'd say this is hardly a finale, but it's hardly a story at all.  There is nothing in this run so far that even reminds me of Nightwing and if this is the story that got Ben Percy the gig, I may start looking for a new favorite character.  Actually, I'll just look for a story that has a real beginning and end because I didn't see that here. If you haven't been following this arc, then don't bother looking into it. There's nothing worthwhile here, and you don't even get a completely story. Multiple plots fizzle out without any sort of conclusion, and you can't even look back on a portion of the story to say, "Well this is a nice moment." It's just nonsense. Read Full Review

Nightwing #47 is a bad mixture of too-serious storytelling and plot points and characters so ridiculous as to border on self-satire. The artwork is great, and it almost pains me that Mooneyham, Janson, and Filardi are being paired with a script this nonsensical. Unfortunately, this one doesnt earn a recommendation. Rushed storyline that is more of a setup than a full arc. Still better written than Percy's Green Arrow, though.

Really rushed, which is a shame, considering that it was great so far. But it seems it's only the beginning, so hopefully it'll improve in the future.

I think that the reason this issue got the rating it got from me is mostly due to the fact that every issue of Nightwing that has recently come out makes me closer and closer to canceling my subscription. This certainly wasn't the worst issue of the series but I can't help but scream out loud due to the fact that I was so relieved the story arc was ended until I realized that although it says "Finale" under the name of the story arc, nothing ends at all. I don't care about a single one of the characters, even the main characters at this point. The art was surprisingly the best part of the issue, which is saying a lot because I wasn't a huge fan of the art. I guess the end was pretty good, and it maybe interests me a little bit, but this ser ies recently has racked up so many sins for me, I don't think I can forgive it. more

“A B Horror Movie Stuffed with All the Fellow Kids Material” Score: 3.0/10 Pros: -Nothing. This issue will make you cringe, be confused and cry once you realized you bought this. Cons: -The art sucked this issue. It used to have a lot of details, but now most of it look like rough sketches. It doesn’t have the amount of care it had before. -Percy, we get it you’re old, but young adults don’t talk like a tech marketer. The only ones who talk like that are those bullied kids bragging how much RAM their PC has. -Nothing gets resolved. Nothing gets answered. Cloke’s character development is given, not earned. You can skip this issue. You can skip this whole arc. Percy's run has been mediocre so far, which is depressi ng after a legendary Green Arrow run. If this is what we will get the next months, all those double shipped issues should not be in your pull list. The only bright side with two issues a month is maybe Percy’s run can finally move faster than a glacier. Thanks for reading. This issue is a big pass. Just read your friend's copy. more
