Nightwing hasn't had any transition hurdles with the new creative team and this issue is a strong reminder that the old guard might have left, but the title isn't ready to depart the list of DC's top books just yet. Read Full Review

Nightwing #120 is a great second issue from this creative team. Taylor and Redondo are a hard act to follow, but so far so good. Nightwing remains one of DC's best books, and Watters and Soy may be going a bit above their predecessors in the action department. Definitely check out Nightwing! Read Full Review

    Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield

    Nov 27, 2024

The visuals are great, the pace is fast, but it doesn't seem to have as full a cast as Taylor had previously built mostly focusing on Dick with a brief cameo from Barbara. But this does work to show us exactly where his mind is right now and how our mystery villain is going to push that to its limit. Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Aaron Ray Jr.

Overall, things still aren't so bad, but I have growing concerns. Firstly, readers have seen this kind of story play out far too many times for this to avoid being generic. What's worse is that similar stories like Fear State and John Ridley's I Am Batman didn't take place so long ago. Hell, we just had Task Force 11 running the entire country in Absolute Power. Secondly, the artwork is inconsistent in quality. When its good, we get slick silhouettes of a male specimen soaring through the air in a skintight bodysuit. When its bad, we get bland designs, choppy line art, odd face renders, and whatever happened with the Teddies this chapter. Narratively, I'm reserving judgement on the mysterious player, but Olivia Pearce is such a blatant “bad guy” that readers must suspend disbelief in wondering why no one on the page is calling her out yet. The Batman Universe - Ian Miller

Though several pieces of Nightwing #120 are nicely handled, the deployment of lazy stereotypes, cheap emotional manipulation, and oversimplified narrative structure brings it down. Dexter Soy's artwork continues to provide a strong appeal, however. Read Full Review
