But Why Tho? - William J. Jackson

    Jun 21, 2022

Nightwing #93 brings multiple stories out to play and makes it looks easy. One rolls into the next and, considering all that Dick has to handle, he never looks too worn out. But the tension grows just enough here and every month to let you know the implosion is right down the road. This issue really brings the actions, the laughs, and is smart enough to offer peeks into certain things to make you come back for more. Read Full Review

Taylor and Redondo get better and better with each issue. Do we need more Haley? Sure (ahem more cowbell please!) Redondo draws hairstyles like we all wish we could style our hair, but it's more than that.t This is a great book to settle in and be inspired by Dick Grayson and all of his positivity! Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

Nightwing #93 works well as a continuation of the previous issue of this series. The emphasis on how important it is for Dick Grayson, not just as Nightwing, to step up to improve things in Bludhaven. How he overcomes the latest obstacle placed in front of him made this direction even more rewarding to be experiencing. While Nightwing got a big win the developments around Blockbuster and Heartless make what comes next something to look forward to. Read Full Review

Very good issue of the creative team Nightwing. The confrontation between Blockbuster and Heartless was short, intense and interesting for the sequel. Blockbuster doesn't want to be #2 in his city and makes it known. The big piece is about Nightwing and the police. A police force that is corrupt to the core and no matter what Nightwing does for the city, he can't do it all, but a little bit anyway, especially in Dick Grayson's clothes. Finally, Nightwing makes a confession. We've been waiting for this and now we're waiting for it to kick into high gear. 15 issues and no love scene? No, it doesn't, it's not Nightwing. DC's most seductive and erotic character and Taylor turns him into a good buddy. It's okay for a while. But now, we want more more

The Dick/Babs story is a deeply satisfying tale of justice winning against the perennially corrupt Blüdhaven PD, and it's a great portrait of how real corrupt cops present themselves to the media. And it's all anchored by the real star of this book: Bruno Redondo. Redondo does thrilling car chases - famously difficult to depict effectively in a comic book - like they're nothing; his panels move with a kinetic energy that makes the book move at a consistently exciting pace. There may be better artists in the industry, but no one in comics is a better storyteller than he is. The weak link in this chain is, as always, Heartless, an unengaging and undermotivated sadist who seems to have decided to confront Blockbuster with no plan whatsoev more

Overall, it's still a pretty decent issue, but the two major problems of the run - the pacing and Nightwing not being competent and constantly needing others help, continues here. For example, Nightwing cleaned statues and made breakfast, showing again that he's a really nice guy, while Oracle created the database that identified the bad guys and made it public in order to expose the police force corruption. It seems like something that Nightwing should be able to do, and he needs to deal with at least some things on his own. We also still don't know where Nightwing lives after his building blew up 2 issues ago, and it seems like a pretty big issue. The ending with Heartless looks very promising, but his confrontation with Blockbuster a more

definitely this run is starting to have problems. Taylor is a very good writer, but man, with ongoing series he has a very big problem: the plot. Taylor make his series with a unique plot, and he has a lot of problems to move it to somewhere. There are many issues that pause the story, and it progresses very badly at times, Which is what happens in this issue specifically. This is supposed to be an importanta arc, but we don't have any plot progression, just some funny interactions and a random situation with the police that is solved at the end of the issue. Is not bad, but I loved the first issues of this series, and I want to go back to that love.

The latest issue wasn't bad but continues the problems i have with it. First the plot progression is so slow, Unfortunately Taylor seems to be acting like this is an overarching story but doesn't have the material to fill the gaps between so what he does is a lot of cross overs. And even with the info about heartless that we got just how long Taylor is going to wait before using him better, give him more character and him to be more challenging? To me it's like the way he's expending the sister character, using her but not giving her much character of her own. Second is that so Many things continue to happen so convenient and Nightwing doesn't face much challenge at all. like some of the world's best assassins are there to kill him? No wo more
