Seely has bounced back from a slow opening issue to this arc, with an issue that answers a lot of questions that I had while addressing some of the concerns I had with the previous issue. Green Lanterns is not without fault. The dialogue is fairly expository at times and a binge read of the book as a whole feels a bit repetitive. The characters however, lift the overall product above and beyond such minor problems and feel inconsequential. This series lives within the DC universe and within the parameters of said world, yet feels fresh and engaging. Green Lanterns should at the very least be on the radar of comic fans who prioritize character exploration over contradiction. Read Full Review

Jessica's trauma is revealed and Simon ventures into unknown territory with the help of an infamous DC character. This was a big improvement over last issue, with all the reveals. I'm always overjoyed to see the "British street wizard" in any book. The visuals have strong character work, with teases of supernatural threats to come. Enjoyable. Read Full Review

I loved the artwork for this issue. The distortion around the black hole was beautifully done " it's enough for us to know something is seriously wrong, but it isn't exactly overdone either. It's a hard balance to find. The world Simon was seeing, upon entering the black hole was interesting as well. I thought he would see what Jess was seeing, but instead he sees a world tinted by green. I'm not sure if it's the green of the woods everything happened in, or the green of the rings. The story asa whole expands on what little is known regarding Jessicas origin: a tragiccrime, followed by crippling anxiety, only to be chosen by the power ring ofEarth 3. But this issue adds layers, much as other major characters have hadnuances to their origins over the years. I am a fan of any story that brings Jessica to the forefront, even if this was a slow build from that awful Bolphunga the Unrelenting storyline. Jain is a formidable villain and adept at the type of manipulation that can bring a Green Lantern to her knees. Looking forward to seeing how Jessica proves that she has the ability to overcome great Fear. It's always a welcome sight when Constantine shows up, and a great way to incorporate the bond of these two partners, through the vulnerability of the loss of their powers. This story is a must-read for fans of Green Lantern Jessica Cruz! Read Full Review

While Singularity Jain is still a bit of a mystery with her powers and whatnot, what we get here is more than enough to make up for it because we're diving deep into Jessica Cruz and what we find out may change the character forever and man am I excited.  I really enjoyed the art in this issue and the characters involved and right now, this arc seems to be the most important thing we've done with our Green Lanterns since Rebirth began. Green Lanterns #45 is perhaps Tim Seeley's strongest work on the title so far. He keeps the identity of the mysterious killers secret for now, but his focus on Jessica Cruz's life before the incident provides new insight into her character. Read Full Review

I went from disinterest in these characters at their inception to adding their title to my reading list. I recommend anyone who is skeptical about 2 more Lanterns read Green Lanternsand you'll see why they are needed. I for one am looking forward to issue #46 and the next part of Ghosts of the Past. This is Seeley's best issue so far (in my humble opinion). Is it perfect? No, but soooo much better than what's come before! I've never been a fan of Cliquet's art and it doesn't add much to the story here. It's just "ok" in my view. I'm just happy this issue is a step in the right direction for the series.

Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten. We open with Jessica Cruz on a hunting trip to later figure out that it's a past memory of hers. It looks like Jess has always had anxiety BUT we may be getting more of a reason as to why she became a shut-in for so long. It looks like she was on a hunting trip and came across some men that actually killed someone and were hiding the body. Jess and her friends must have stumbled onto them and it turns out, her friends were killed but Jess managed to escape. In the last issue, Jain must have noticed this repressed memory and dug it out of her offering Jess a w ay to see the killers faces that have escaped her for about 4 years in hopes she could finally get revenge. And it appears as though Jess took Jain up on that offer. Constantine and the rest of the league send Simon to another realm to try to find Jess, which we find out does not allow "jewelry", which seemed odd to me... but whatever. Simon goes in to that realm, minus his ring, to find out that we are actually inside Jess's Power Ring. And if you remember, this ring was not only Volthooms but also Power Rings from the Crime Syndicate, which was a great tie in Seeley! Finally! I feel like this book is getting a bit better. I wasn't really enjoying the last two arcs too much. And to be honest, I wasn't a fan of how this one really started. But getting a better backstory of Jessica, as well as giving me some Volthoom and Power Ring is a huge step for me in the creative, fun, and exciting direction. I'm finally interested in seeing where the lanterns are going and I haven't felt like this since Humphries left. So Seeley, you got a bite. Now, reel me in!
