Oct 01, 2014That's it for this chapter of GODHEAD and I don't know if it's the fact that I was really hyped to read the next chapter after finishing the grand start of the story, or if it's because this issue wasn't bogged down with a shit ton of artists, but I enjoyed it even more. Billy Tan's art is so good and that coupled with the always brilliant colors of the book just makes Green Lantern a privilege to read. Shit's getting real here folks and you won't want to miss all your favorite Lantern Corps try and stand up against the power of the New Gods. Go check it out and be completely shocked by the beginning to this story. Read Full Review

Oct 02, 2014Billy Tan really shines in this issue with his depiction of the New Gods and their intense level of power. Additionally, his space-based layouts are a great deal of fun to see here. Read Full Review

Oct 02, 2014Since the Geoff Johns era ended, both Venditti and Tan have done a fantastic job keeping the legacy alive and well. Godhead is just one more step towards cementing their own legacy, outside of the massive shadow that Johns casts. Only two acts in and Godhead is really starting to feel huge in scope with consequences that could affect the entire DC Multiverse for years to come. Read Full Review

Oct 03, 2014Green Lantern #35 is a great issue which effectively moves the story of GodHead forward while providing some good character beats that flesh out the New Gods and illustrating how Hal is advancing as a leader. The magnitude of the threat the New Gods pose is made clear, forcing a decision which will once again turn enemies into allies. Four out of five lanterns. Read Full Review

Oct 06, 2014Regardless, Green Lantern #35 is a slow burn. It begins with violence and ends with desperation. Bringing in the New Gods is a stroke of genius as it opens up the grandness of the story, finally having a similar feel as Johns' "Rebirth," "Sinestro Corps War," or "Blackest Night." If the series lives up to its promise, Venditti will earn his spot alongside Johns, and show people that as a Green Lantern successor, he is more than worthy. Read Full Review

Oct 01, 2014I guess some people haven't been a fan of Billy Tan's pencils, but I for one find his work more than adequate. Sure, he's no Doug Mahnke, but he gets the job done, and appears to improve with each issue. Read Full Review

Oct 01, 2014Godhead Act 1 part 2 was more of an extension of part 1, sadly it felt it more like Part 1.1 then a true part 2. The crew is definitely playing the long game for this one, let's see how it plays out. The issue fell flat though. Read Full Review
