It's unclear exactly what the future holds for Green Arrow and Black Canary, but the start of this new arc does a pretty exceptional job of showcasing the pair's strengths. Read Full Review

This is a very good issue. The art is fantastic. It's big and crazy when it needs to be but also knows when to hold that back. I like where Oliver's head is at right now and the potential that could lead to in this conflict with Count Vertigo. There were a couple scenes that I found dull but it is still an enjoyable read. But thats the one and only thing I can complain about with this story, and I fully admit to it being a niggly fanboy thing. So for everyone else who isnt such a nerd about things, you should have a ball reading it. Read Full Review

It's too bad DC has already announced the book is ending with issue 50. Kelly and Lanzing have a nice feel for Green Arrow and his relationship with Black Canary that it seems a shame to end it so soon.Green Arrow may be a short-timer, but that doesn't mean it's ending on a low note. This was another strong issue that delivered once again. Read Full Review

It's a shame this title didn't make Lanzing and Kelly the full-time writers earlier, because this is one of the better Green Arrow issues in some time. Whatever comes next for the characters, I hope Lanzing and Kelly are on board. Read Full Review

Black Nerd Problems - Chris Aiken

This is a good start if this is going to be the final arc of Green Arrow. The past always comes back to haunt Oliver. Kelly and Langzing obviously know that bringing up Oliver's past is how you get the best out of that character. Vertigo is definitely going to make it hard for Ollie to ignore his grief, and the premise of Vertigo with evolve powers is kind of exciting to see. I can't wait to see how it all goes down. Kelly and Lanzing jump on for the final arc of the series, and they do a great job at making an old villain feel new while also embracing Ollie and Dinah's relationship. Read Full Review

Green Arrow is a character heavily driven by emotion, but its difficult to read a story where the same issues prevent the character from changing, whether its by growing or worsening. Oliver drones on about his problems without showing any real sign of wanting to do something about it. With Green Arrow officially coming to a close with issue #50, its a wonder how this final solo run will impact Oliver Queen. Read Full Review

While I love the new take on the villain that we're dealing with and the idea that Oliver is going to face his grief over Roy's death, this first issue for Lanzing and Kelly's run is a little rough mostly because of the art and a little because of the strange continuity that's being given to us.  All in all, I'm interested to see what we'll get going forward, but this isn't the home run first issue that I was hoping for. In fact, you could argue she's passed up Oliver as the best character in the series. The way she saved Oliver from Citizen was quite impressive"and very cool"and seeing her catch Green Arrow is always a sight. Read Full Review

The art is, specially, the best of this issue, undoubtedly! It transmitted the whole effects of Count Vertigo to me ñ, making me feel I'm in there, as anyone will feel. About the script, it raises the level in comparison with the previous issues, totally.

THE GOOD: -I like them exploring the Black Canary singer angle again. I always liked that aspect of her. -I've never really like Count Vertigo, but this issue cranks my appreciation for him up a whole notch. -God, I love this art. The characters look nice, and the trippiness factor is very high. -I really liked the dialogue between Black Canary and Green Arrow. They finally have good chemistry and their banter is great. -Kelly and Lanzing are the best things that have happened to this series. I'm actually really sad it's cancelled, I want more than three issues of this. Please, DC, the Bensons may have sucked, but this is awesome! Please! -Two panels is all it takes for this creative team to hit me in the feels with Ro more

I actually liked this issue. I wasn't expecting to because it's Green Arrow and getting me interested in Green Arrow is like getting a cat interested in being wet. It's just really difficult for me to latch onto Green Arrow or Black Canary as characters. Ollie can be sarcastic sometimes, and that certainly helps, but he's still no Hawkeye or even the other Hawkeye! Black Canary has just bored me a lot. I think female characters especially suffer from frankly boring characterizations because some writers like to make their character all about their gender, or make them the generic "strong, independent woman." Black Canary certainly falls into the latter, at least during Rebirth. In Green Arrow itself, sometimes she's written like that to the more

I love Count Vertigo so happy to have a story involving him, but the art leaves it all feeling a bit cheap.

While the artwork is phenomenal, the dialogue is very confusing at times. The story itself seems to be a bit wacky as well and not in a good way. The new character that we meet wish they put an editors note to tell where that character even came from.

"Read a book" Bensons got fired, the book is getting canceled and the story is lackluster. Where is Ben Percy when you need him? Yes, the story is "meh" at best and I'm having a really hard time accepting the Arrow-plane, but there are a few things that are good in this issue. I think that the banter between Oliver and Dinah is great. It feels like two people that are really close and that care for each other. Also, another good thing. Oliver has recently been through a lot, both in and out of costume. Despite all that, we don't see him throwing childish tantrums and waving his fits around police commissioners like a certain pointy eared vigilante. But that's about it. It's hard to invest in the story knowing it's ending right more
