It's a finale that brings a satisfying end to one of the best series DC has published in the last couple of years, and does so by balancing the tonal needs of a deeply patriotic and somewhat dated premise with the more cynical and "realistic" feel of modern comics. Read Full Review

Artist Eddy Barrows delivers his usual big blockbuster style of action scenes and the pages look amazing. Colorist Adriano Lucas comes through as well with some dazzling work. Read Full Review

Since issue #1, this series has been a book for a thinking reader. There are lots of big ideas presented here that aren't always easily explored in the super-hero genre. Freedom Fighters #12 is no different. While there is the sense that it would've been great to learn more about each individual character, or have a bigger, more significant resolution, what we got is a finale that extends beyond the bounds of the comic itself and into the real world. Perhaps, there's something to be learned from this series. Read Full Review

While I loved this series overall, I felt that this conclusion felt a little lackluster in what it showed us with our heroes and the aftermath of their quest to rid the world of the Ratzi menace.  That being said, there's still so much fun here and the art was amazing throughout.  Maybe I'm just not ready to be done with Earth-X and wanted to squeeze as much out of this issue as possible, but by the conclusion we do get an end to our story, I just wish there was more to it. Prelude: It's the final issue of Freedom Fighters. Let's see how Venditti goes with wrapping this maxi-series up. The Good: Out of everyone, I loved Uncle Sam the most of the Freedom Fighters. I love the National Avatars. Eddy Barrows. His art was amazing throughout the series but especially here. The Bad: Not sure how I feel about that last page. Doesn't seem right to me. Conclusion: Your typical happy ending that was to be expected but I wouldn't have it any other way. Only part I'm questioning is the final page.

Loved the series. Never been that interested in Earth X, but this was a darker than expected treat.

This is fine. I don't know why Hitler 3 had to tell the Freedom Fighters about the bomb. Guess it's hubris. I don't know, this doesn't make me feel the American spirit. Guess I'm a ratzi.

Isn't it great how fascism is just a problem of like one or two bad people at the top and for sure never the people who follow them?
