Flash #85

While the Rogues usually make for an interesting story, they always have seemed rather under-powered compared to the Flash. Williamson has finally made the Rogues into a believable threat to the scarlet speedster. The Flash is always one of my favourite books each month and The Flash #85 has not broken that trend. Actually, all of the artwork here is beautiful. Christian Duce does a first rate job yet again. The artwork is excellent on each and every page. This is another strong book in an excellent run. I cant wait to see where we go next. Read Full Review

This arc finally shows signs of improvement with part four, but its a little too late to make you care about the overall story. This is already a tie-in to another story, so unless youre heavily invested in Scott Snyders neverending Justice League epic, you will probably be rolling your eyes at the power-ups and new looks for the Rogues. This could have been a much better Rogues-centric arc if it wasnt suffering from crossover-itis, and was allowed to be its own thing, growing organically from Flashs book. Christian Duce delivers some dynamic and beautiful art in this issue. Everything from the characters to the backgrounds is filled with beautiful details and there is an energy to the action. Read Full Review

The Flash takes some inspiration from its title character and races through this issue to take us to the big climax of this story. Along the way, we get a few entertaining but confusing scenes that eventually take us to a big face-off between our hero and his main villain. The issue has some great art and the story is still good enough to give us plenty of entertainment, but this issue did not live up to the standards set by the previous issues. Read Full Review

Prelude: I've been really enjoying Rogues' Reign so far so let's see what Williamson has in store in this issue. The Good: I like how Cold is here. He's menacing, not the Cold that we know but one that is ruthless. The Barry and Lisa scene was cool. Duce's art is good. The Bad: Nothing. Conclusion: It dropped off a bit from last issue in quality but I'm still enjoying this arc.

Enjoying the overall arc and like the internal conflict of the Rogues, I just wish the dialogue was better and not so stilted. That and Captain Cold going bare chested was just, dumb. So dumb.

"Do you always have guns aimed at your family?" I enjoyed this issue, but it is starting to feel like this story is losing it's steam a bit. YotV out of whack continuity doesn't help either. Better to wrap it up soon.
