I am so tired of DC that I have skipped it this week, it is sad that the same managers are destroying the editorial.

May 25, 2021Jordie Bellaire is an elite colorist and she does such a superb job of aiding the storytelling with her color choices. May 25, 2021The identity of this character shows Tamaki is definitely getting into some deep Bat-lore for this run, and the ensuing team-up with Huntress is strong"although Bruce is oddly more tolerant of her taste for lethal weapons than he usually is with his own kids. Read Full Review

DC Comics News - Matthew Lloyd
May 26, 2021Like the previous two issues in Mariko Tamaki's run, Detective Comics #1036 blends a great mystery with good characterization and exciting art. The creative team make it look easy, but it has to be anything but. It relies on great storytelling as opposed to an event gimmick. Don't pass this one up, especially for fans of the Huntress. The Batman Universe - Theodis Wright
May 25, 2021Tamaki's use of Bruce Wayne alongside Batman has been a welcomed change to Batman comics. Detective Comics' connection to the main Batman book has also continued to bring the universe together. Now that Huntress has been fully integrated into the main story, it can only mean some fun adventures between her and Batman for the remainder of the arc. Overall, this issue is better than a four, but less than a four and a half. It is that good. Read Full Review

Batman-News - Casper Rudolph
May 25, 2021The writing is an improvement over last month, although some plot beats are still a bit too convenient, as if the writer is taking the easy way out, and some of the dialogue still sounds unnatural and clunky. The art, however, from Mora, Henry and Bellaire, is excellent. Read Full Review

May 25, 2021This issue of Detective Comics takes a considerable nosedive as Mariko Tamaki adds a bunch of swerves in what was already becoming a convoluted story. Misdirections and forced reveals have taken the place of detective work, and while this book continues to look great, it needs more focus as we advance. Read Full Review
