DCeased is a lot more tolerable to read on DC Universe Infinite, rather than $4/issue here. I am a JSA fan, but still.. I really think the second-stringer JLA characters on backup "Earth One" are smarter than this. A reminder that The Batman was the FIRST American vampire-hunter/slayer in fiction, stopping the Mad Monk, back in 1939's DC original universe.

The book is worth reading for the art alone, and theres still a chance the books mid-stretch could shift and come together, but its still too early to tell. Jan 26, 2022I appreciate the series on a lot of different levels. With no true killings and no true reveals, at least in my reviews, however, there is one item of note. The main cover, which features Superman and Wonder Woman attempting to subdue Batman, indicates a Clark transformation. Unless I miss something, he has combated magic/occult pretty successfully in the past, despite being more vulnerable to it than human beings. He's the saving grace in all of this so far, so how's he being duped into thinking Batman and Green Arrow are the vampires? Unless he's pulling an Andrew Garfield on us… whoops! Terrifically written and drawn. i fully believe is going to an evergreen story. In spite of its silly title (and premise) it's just such a great DCU-wide Elseworlds. I hear Rosenberg's voice in the dialogue well more than Tynion's and I'm glad he's getting so much work at DC lately. Nobody's out there exactly raving about him (yet) but he gets those characters, he provides them the freshest takes in ages, and he seems to get better all the time. I'm sure Tynion had a lot to do with the plotting and I think he's a fine writer but the dialogue in this issue is beyond him. Schmidt's fantastic here and was an inspired choice. This was a really good issue of a surprisingly compelling series.

This was a beautiful issue due to Schmidt's art and inks. The story was pretty good and allowed a lot of players in this story to come together.

A nice issue, though it is currently falling under the very expected route of breaking the JL and keeping Batman alive. I have said before and will again after DCeased this holds less weight, because that book really focused on the character interaction while this focus just on the pick up line (main points like Batman vs Green Arrow, and JL after Batman).

Eh. Another "Earth-D" story, where most heroes are just DUMB. Gullible is written on the ceiling for JLA. Great plot for fans of Batman and his omniscient detective skills superiority (me). Otherwise?? Writer Matthew Rosenberg (obviously NOT James Tynion IV) makes weak plot work by making most of JLA into incompetent fools. While second-stringers JLA are obviously NOT the Justice Society of America, still the JLA members gained some mental skills in 60 years. Tempting but improbable to view JLA characters as that incompetent. As our fearless leader might say, "Come on, man."
