Damage #3

Damage is really proving to be a nice welcome surprise. It's not shaking up the DC Universe, but it's a very competently and enjoyably crafted book. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a book that does its job well. Read Full Review

First impressions are everything right? Ethan and Damage left one heck of an impression on the world when laying waste to a city, a team of heavy-hitter villains, and Wonder Woman. Damage #3 found a good balance between story development and action, while making sure that in the end we know where the issues to follow will take us. Read Full Review

This was a strong and action-heavy issue that progressed the story along quite nicely. I'm bummed that Daniel is off the book so I hope the story compensates in the future. This may be the best New Age of Heroes book out there, so get on it. Read Full Review

With a fantastic appearance from Wonder Woman and another spreading of bread crumbs offering just one more hint at the larger mystery, this comic was a lot of fun. However, in the final few pages, the story circled back to a trope that we've already seen in its short run. Read Full Review

Damage #3 comes in with another strong effort, and while very heavy on action, manages to be compelling enough to keep me coming back.  Ethan/Damage, and the cast around them, have a lot of issues to sort out and deal with on their plates all setup in this quick three issue arc and I look forward to seeing that dealt with. Despite all I like I would eventually like to see the creators tackle some of the plot points more going forward and dial the fighting back just a touch but its still a lot of fun. Read Full Review

Damage #3 is a good book with a great fight scene and not much else. The ending was a nice addition to the plot but otherwise, there doesn't seem to be much keeping me entertained. I will always keep in mind that a new hero on the scene was able to take out the suicide squad and Wonder Woman. The writing of Tony S. Daniel and Robert Venditti coupled with the art stylings of Danny Miki is enjoyable. If you're looking for some light reading with a lot of action I recommend picking this up but if you like more character in your superhero stories: This isn't for you. Read Full Review

Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten. Well if you wanted to true "Hulk" in the DCU we got one! Whether I like it or not, this issue showed us some things. The first: Damage is more powerful and Wonder Woman. He took down the SS faster than she herself said she could and later said she hasn't seen strength like that before. Second: speculation says that he may be a challenge for Superman since he is the one who remarked to Wonder Woman's comment the most surprised. Third: his power may be strong but it only lasts for an hour. During that time, it appears Ethan can try to talk to the beast but he cannot remember everything Damage does. Fourth: the lasso of truth can now show Wonder Woman the truth as well. She someone knows a man is inside Damage even though he said nothing to her directly. So, I guess Wonder Woman now has a psychic bond with the lasso? Fifth: Waller and this Colonel hate each other and appear to be competing. So now everyone is trying to find Damage from the Justice League, to Waller, and this Colonel that made Damage appears to be sending out Kano from Mortal Kombat to find him ( a joke) Not a bad start for a comic if you're ok with a DC Hulk. I am so I'm loving it. If you aren't or don't like the Hulk, don't bother. really nice art and an OK issue. the standard fight where he gets to show that he can survive battling Wonder Woman for a couple of minutes before he gets away from her. now she and the Justice League are going to be hunting for him. as are the military and Waller. groan. the one thing they have not yet done is make me care about the character tho. not sure how many more I'll read but it isn't bad.

Decent issue - way better than the debut, but I wouldn't say it was as interesting and personal as #2. Series goes forward, but for now, it seems a bit shy and dependant on big names to help it, whether it's Harley Quinn and the rest of Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, or now, Batman. And they all have been outshining Damage so far. Story is not progressing too quickly, which I find to be the right creative choice, but when you think about it, practically nothing relevant involves the protagonist, and his eponymous alter-ego. He, as a character, does nothing - issue #2 laid down some solid foundation for his development, but we haven't seen any of them this month. Let's hope for the best for the month of april.
