You know what they say: two's company, but three's a crowd! The Royal Flush Gang joins Selina Kyle behind bars, and while the other inmates are team Selina, the Queen remains loyal to Punchline. It wouldn't be jail without the ladies clawing each other's eyes out, especially when Catwoman makes a special appearance just to kick some clown ass. All this chaos and distraction may just be the break-out-of-jail-free card Selina needs. Meanwhile, Tomcat finally deals with his ex-boyfriend who tried to take the Tomasso heir...

Apr 18, 2023Final ThoughtsCatwoman #54 continues Selinas story, as well as secondary characters Eiko Hasigawa, Punchline and Marquise. Ive been loving this little corner of the DCU and Gotham City, and this issue has some very intense moments complemented perfectly by action and moments of dark humor. Recommended. Read Full Review

Apr 25, 2023The Royal Flush Gang forces Selina Kyle's hand as ‘Catwoman' #54 brings about the end of the vigilante's prison stint, bringing some huge character moments and some great foundational elements for the stories to come. This run has done so much work to continue to build upon what others have done to keep Selina in her own fleshed out ever-deepening world that just happens to be adjacent to Batman, rather than centering upon him. Apr 21, 2023Catwoman #54 is a solid transitional issue. We've seen our heroes make their way to the next big dramatic arc and there's much to look forward to. At this point, her feud with both Punchline and Black Mask are up in the air and can be handled a number of ways. Anything can happen to our leading lady, which is what keeps this title so exciting. Apr 26, 2023Selinas been Catwoman for so long that its kind of disappointing to see her slide back into the role at issues end. With things shifting back in the direction of the status quo, Howard and company can get back to more traditional Catwoman stories, but Kyle has been drifting quite a bit over the course of the past few years, and there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of momentum in her adventures of late. Eiko seems a lot more captivating. Read Full Review

Apr 18, 2023It overall works, but I would have liked a little more time with Eiko and Dario this issue, as everyone seemed to be in a holding pattern waiting for Selina's return. Read Full Review

Apr 19, 2023Selina Kyle's status quo continues to shift in this issue, an installment that has entertaining moments, but still feels bogged down by the sense that something more compelling is on the horizon. Read Full Review

Batman-News - Michael Escalante
Apr 18, 2023Catwoman #54 has a strong concept to wrap up Selina's stay in prison while also addressing the growing tension between her and Punchline. Unfortunately, Howard's narrative relies on too many contrivances, which denies the big moments of the issue of their emotional resonance. Nico Leon and Veronica Gandini make the book visually appealing, but the visual gloss can't fully make up for the book's inherent faults. Read Full Review

Apr 22, 2023Catwoman #54 is a complete mess of unbelievable situations setting up more of the same. Most of the characters feel more like props than actual characters, and the ones that readers might know, are written out of character. Hopefully, getting Selina out of prison will help this book, but I doubt it. Read Full Review
