    Comic Watch - Jimmy Hayes

This issue, and this series, is such a refreshing change of pace from everything else DC is currently publishing. It's light but serious, enjoyable, and funny without being lowbrow, uplifting, and hopeful. You won't feel like shooting yourself in the head when you're done reading it. I wish other creative teams would take a lesson from this series. Read Full Review

Dan Jurgens has been doing a bit of a farewell tour of the DCU for a few years now, after writing its characters for around thirty years. I'm not sure if he is actually mic-dropping on a comic career any time soon, but what is clear is that he still has it. Read Full Review

Blue & Gold #8 is a great cap to Dan Jurgens miniseries. It serves as a nostalgic reminder of an earlier era. But it also demonstrates that such a book can still work today. While this is the last issue of Blue & Gold, I expect that we will see more of this dynamic duo again before long. Read Full Review

Overall, I enjoyed Blue & Gold. It had a throwback vibe to it. While the art was somewhat inconsistent at times, Ryan Sook wraps up the series on a strong note and gives us a happy memory to end Booster Gold and Blue Beetle's latest misadventure on. Read Full Review

Black Beetle's identity is liable to annoy some readers, but this issue's ending and the fact that B and B manage to give us a *FUN* adventure even while battling for their lives makes me hope for Blue and Gold Season Two. Read Full Review

This was a good closer. 1 and 2 started off great but then this story dragged on and did not really entertain yet somehow it came together for a solid closing issue. I recommend this for fans of the characters only. If the middle of this story held up better I would recommend for normies but it was not entertaining. I'm actually surprised this wrapped up as neatly as it did. Sook has great pencils on here and the colors suit the book well. Jurgens still has it I believe. Probably just had a dull moment in time that will be course corrected going forward.

Fun issue that ended well. Love the characters but if this was an ongoing series then everything would be fine. But since it's a maxi/mini it just didn't flow well enough.

This miniseries was confusing. It's not paced like a traditional mini would be. It doesn't seem to have a real point. It's just sort of there.
