Batman: The Adventures Continue: Season Two #1

All in all, this is a great Batman book. It has the BTAS feel and BTAS is easily the best animated series of all time and, for many folks my age, is the definitive Batman (okay, along with Michael Keaton). Any Batman fan would enjoy this. It is a continuation of one of the best cartoons of all time (with the added extra of the Court of Owls). With Batman being such an amazing IP, I would love to see The Adventures Continue as a new season of Batman the Animated Series. The addition of Deadman adds an interesting angle as he isn't able to possess the zombie Talons (who can see him), helping Batman accept their odd nature quickly (although a trip to Zatanna proves to be equally useful). Now, with Deadman's help, can Batman prevent the Court of Owls assassins from taking out any more prominent Gothamites? Read Full Review

Batman: The Adventures Continue Season 2 starts a new chapter to the classic franchise by introducing an intriguing take on the Court of the Owls. Because it looks like it's going back towards Dick Grayson and Deadman.

They started this story interestingly, with the killing of a regular from the series. The animated continuity Mayor Hill certainly was different than the original one in the early '80s (though when you look at his anti-Batman attitude at the series' start he was probably originally planned to have been). They did a good job expanding his world through the wife and son who never appeared before, though they also seem to have forgotten several years had passed between the Fox and WB eras as Jordan was hardly aged. By this point he should be in his teens. The Court of Owls are villains from long after the show ended so it's interesting to see them in animated continuity. This must happen before Justice League though since Batman and Deadman d on't know each other yet. I'd prefer if these stories were from the Fox era more though since those episodes were so much better. But it's still pretty good. It should be interesting seeing Batman and Deadman taking on the Court next issue. more
