This was fun for sure. The subplots really grabbed me more than the villain's plot. After all, Floronic Man wanting vegetation and creating this fake war seems somewhat weak. Couldn't he just grab some? Grow a body out them? Isn't this war too complex. Still, Aquaman's struggles at home and Superman and Lori K-I-S-S-I-N-G makes it all worth it. The three storylines of this issue each go off on their own, but for the most part manage to stay individually engaging. Look I am just going to go out on a branch and guess that Lori made the first move that Clark would not be ok with and Roland just got their at a bad time. I think it was pretty clear that she was rather unhappy with her husband being more interested in... killing everyone? Then be a proper leader. Onto the actual story, I am loving it. Floronic man in the ocean with the ocean flora makes a lot of sense. I am surprised this has not been explored early. A great untapped story. Also teh Swampthing vs Floronic in the ocean is nothing something I would have thought of but am very glad to see.

Good, not great, chapter that jumped around quite a bit. Far from Waid’s best work on this title, but still a solid read that moved the story forward.

After a solid part one, this one slows to a crawl and then takes a bit misstep with Supes and Lori. For all that Waid says he knows Supes, he somehow thinks it's possible for the most upright and uptight hero of all to do anything with a married woman. It just doesn't fit.

don't worry readers, in case you can't follow the story the bad guy will just take time out of his day to explain all the moving pieces, thus removing all mystery and intrigue! fortunately we get to see superman and a mermaid hook up
