Batman Beyond #3

Reading this felt exactly like I was watching an episode of Batman Beyond. It was actually kind of surreal, because this was one of the rare times I've actually heard the character's distinct voices speaking in my head. I've always wondered why Terry McGinnis and his ilk hadn't been brought into the fold of the greater DCU and, considering how well this turned out, I still have to ask why it didn't happen sooner. Although I'm still not sure about this new Catwoman, this issue does give me the one thing I always wanted from Batman Beyond – Dick Grayson. And that's enough for me…as long as they don't screw it up. Worth a look. Read Full Review

Batman Beyond #3 was another average read at best. Though this issue is helped with some cool guest appearances that make it the best read of the mini-series it is still a disappointing story. When this mini-series was first announced I was very excited at the prospects of finally revisiting the Batman Beyond universe but getting to read this has been a big letdown as a big fan of the cartoon. The only people I would possibly recommend this mini-series to are die hard Batman Beyond fans and even to those fans I would say treed with caution. If you have a friend that is reading this mini-series borrow their copy to see if you like it. Otherwise I say avoid this mini-series as it is a very average story. Read Full Review

This is the worst of angry Bruce so far but the best story. He doesn't trust Terry at all and wants to take the suit from him, saying he doesn't deserve it. All Terry is trying to do is prove that he is worthy of the mantle which he has proved in the stories this builds off of. Unless Hush coming back is causing Bruce to have a psychotic break and he's lashing out, this is just weird. I really felt for Calendar Man. I know he's a villain and I too believe that Batman doesn't do enough to ensure that his rogue's gallery are handled carefully and permanently after all of their crimes, but he went out brutally. Again, the art is a lot more solid but we're seeing the same characters throughout these past few issues. It might have just taken som e time to acclimate with the environment that they would be utilizing for the characters and world but it's a shame that it took until now to look as good. more
