Action Comics #1083

I was pleasantly surprised with the villain reveal in Action Comics #1083. The Batman cameo works itself organically within the story and doesn't take away from Clark's own investigative skills. All in all this is shaping up to be a very memorable tale. Read Full Review

This is a pretty good example of combining emotionally true storytelling with sci-fi concepts in superhero writing, and it does a very good job of showing just how determined Superman can be when a case really hits him in the right emotional place. The ending introduces another set of villains that I didn't really recognize, but with only one issue left to go, Ridley has a whole lot of interesting elements to tie up. Read Full Review

Action Comics #1083pulls back the curtain on the "mystery" surrounding Major Disaster's fall from recovery. John Ridley's criminal conspiracy is an even mix of convoluted plot and boring execution with a hefty dash of plot holes sprinkled on top. This new arc promises interesting themes and ideas but that promise has not been delivered yet. This issue is just okay with middle-of-the-road art and some questionable plot choices. I am hoping the finale of this arc pulls this story together. Read Full Review

I enjoyed this ish as much as 1082. I like the dialogue and feel like the panels flow nice. It's not a complicated story but it's good and I like the side characters like Scorch too. And Manheim being the culprit behind all of this buying off Paul and others to steal there "telemeres" which are used to make others stay young and live longer. The only catch is those who lose these telemeres lose their life time and feel there time shortened, getting side effects of hopelessness and emptinnesss.

There's some interesting ideas here but the issue was a slog to read which is something I've found to be typical for Ridley's writing.
