DC Comics News - Matthew Lloyd

Action Comics continues to be a great place for Superman readers. Waid and Henry are definitely "All In on this. It's strong enough that it almost doesn't matter that the Supergirl story is lackluster- well, don't tell that to Supergirl fans. Action Comcis #1076 continues to be a bright spot for DC Comics and Superman! Read Full Review

These two have been so much fun in this story that it makes me wonder how it's taken DC so long to get a proper Teen Titans or Young Justice series going again they have so many great players. But a big cliffhanger sets the stakes high for the next chapter. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Collier Jennings

Action Comics #1076 will hit readers in the emotions when they least expect it, but that's a good thing. Sometimes a good superhero story isn't a slugfest or a genre-defining epic. Sometimes, it'll hit you in the heart. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Christian Laspada

This issue pushes the storyline further, but only partially. While the plot as a whole has been exciting and interesting, this issue feels inconsequential and filler. I look forward to next weeks issue and hope for more action and plot progression. Read Full Review

Supergirl Comic Box Commentary - Anj

I know I haven't mentioned Meghan Hetrick's art too much. She isn't given much to do here. Her close-ups of Supergirl are quite nice.  Anyways, as always the biggest losers here are Supergirl fans who hoped this would be a spotlight on her that would lead to something bigger like a solo title. The Supergirl stories continue to make this comic a no go when it comes to adding this title to my pull list. Half a comic or short back-ups that are, in wrestling terms, mid to bottom card quality seem to continue to plague DC books. I'd rather save a dollar and get half a comic that's higher quality than pay for second-rate content. Multiple Supes family stories are perfect for Action Comics but the entirety of the book has to pass muster or the score (and interest) drops drastically.

Not as bad but I guess the only big thing we learned from Supermans visit to past Krypton was the the Phantom Zone being used as a prison wasn't his father's idea. And also Zor is a huge d*ck fink, glad he didn't survive Krypton's destruction lmao. That's already the end of the Krypton story and the Keenan side story is gay. Keenan and Superboy should just get a room and f**k already, and Superboy didn't beat the Admiral Khund to command his Khund army, he probably blew him or something to get to wear his coat.

Action Comics #1076 is a glaring example of squandered potential-a work that promises depth and grandeur yet delivers a shallow, disjointed experience riddled with narrative missteps and character mismanagement. The solicitation alone raises expectations for a tale brimming with existential stakes and familial tension, yet what readers receive is a muddled exploration that undermines the very essence of Superman and his supporting cast. Jor-El himself is rendered as little more than a plot device, stripped of complexity or gravitas. Here is a figure whose legacy looms large over Superman's identity, and yet, his involvement feels perfunctory-his role reduced to a tired cliché rather than a meaningful exploration of fatherhood, guilt, or more
