'Kill All Immortals' feels like the reader is strapped to a runaway freight train as the action comes fast and often. It's a throwback story that relies on primal survival leading from one stunning fight scene to another. Succession meets John Wick... with immortal Vikings is a very appropriate tagline, heh. Even more accurate, I'd say it's Succession meets Ragnarok (the excellent Netflix show), but that show is a bit less well known. This is a great series so far, the art is good, the writing is good and the plot is a lot of fun. It's funny, I can still see a bit of Chris Hemsworth in this Thor even though they're obviously not related at all. I think that just speaks to how great the casting was, that he matches the look of the character so well even when this version of the character has nothing to do with his Thor. One of my favorite new titles, if I have a single complaint it would be that I'd love to see a bunch of really cool variant covers h eh. This book just oozes so much style I could see a lot of really cool possibilities from the popular cover artists. I'd even love just a virgin of the cover A, that's a great image of Thor I'd probably hang up as a poster if instead he had an axe or something in his hand. Something to contrast the modern design of his clothes with the ancient savage nature of his family and history. more

Issue 2? Even better! There's so much action and gore starting off this issue, and not necessarily in a gratuitous way. Freya is briefly shown in the days of old, refusing to plunge and murder people at her father's order. Which makes him question did Freya is even a Viking? Well, here in the present, Freya dusts off her Viking skills to fight her way out the imminent danger. I can assure you she's hell of a Viking. On top of that there's some solid exposition for how things work in this universe, and it works for me. In the end there's a clash with Thor, her brother, who's not just big, strong and intimidating, he carries the burden of the family on his shoulders. There are some heavy words exchanged between siblings in between blows an d slashes that built the characters pretty good. The art? It's just perfect for this story. It's bloody when it needs to be. It's pretty detailed when needed and the emotions jump out of the panels when the story calls for. In all honesty this is better than what I thought it would be. more

I still believe that Hunt/Kill/Repeat was better. The artwork here is outstanding as is the action. The powers seem inconsistent as she was shot in the face a half dozen times and revived immediately and yet Thor isn't getting up?
