The opening of Darkness Visible is solid, but not spectacular. The script connects the necessary dots to get the series started, while the art team turned in quality work - especially on the looks of the demonic characters. After another issue or so, it should be clearer whether the plot and characters live up to the high-concept ambitions.

The second issue of Darkness Visible builds on the strengths on the first, expanding our sense of this world and its political implications.

Despite these misgivings, the latest volume ofHawkeyeis off to a very promising start. By the last page of this issue, the creators have established a likable supporting cast, hinted at a high-stakes central conflict, and brought in a well-chosen first guest star. This series has already demonstrated that Kate, a character who previously has always shared pages with the other members of the Young Avengers or her namesake, is more than capable of standing on her own. Now, she just needs an opponent worthy of her talents and wit.

Hawkeye continues to be a breezy - yet tightly plotted -good time with quality characterization and plenty of heart.

With the conclusion of its second storyline, this series has established a unique voice and a consistent level of quality.

This series is off to a promising start, with an action-packed opening that pays homage to Steranko and Bond alike.

Three issues in, this series has established itself as consistently fun and beautiful to look at.
