Nick Fury #3 is another stellar issue in the fledgling series. While some of the deficiencies in character development of the earlier issues have persisted, the issue still fully displays the strengths of the series. James Robinson's dialogue pairs extremely well with the artwork by ACO, Petrus, and Rosenberg, creating a snappy and fun ride. This isn't a series that you'll reread for the plot machinations, but it's one that creates an effect on the reader with its cool factor. Read Full Review

More style than substance so far, but man, do they ever do the style right. This issue looks absolutely great--Aco is a revelation in his innovative design, and the colours pop to make this a visual tour de force. We get a greater sense of who this Nick Fury is in this issue, as we see a bit more of his charm and humour; this series has been doing single issue stories that don't feel slight or incomplete, a rarity in times when 20 pages can fly by without much happening at all. Robinson and Aco are a great team.

I could buy this series just for the art. Nick Fury has been a ton of fun. If you are looking for an in depth story, this is not for you. Every issue is a mission of Nick and this one is just as much fun as the rest. It would be nice to get a little insight on NF Jr, but I'm not going to complain considering the quality we are receiving.

Nick Fury Jr. checks off the "sexy flirting" and "traintop fight" boxes on his Baby Bond Spy Experience card. This is still a very stylish ride, but it's certainly not breaking any new ground. It relies a great deal on spy clichés, and the absence of Frankie Noble suggests that this is destined to be the skippable "status quo" issue of this brief title. This is also where the creeping suspicion dawns that ACO's artistic brilliance outshines James Robinson's scripting skills by a significant margin.

Psychedelic Noir. The story was bo-OH-ring. The art was fair tribute to Steranko stylings of Classic Fury. Rating is generous.
