Prelude: It's the end of Kate's first "arc". Let's see how Thompson goes with finishing it. The Good: Kate is freaking great in this issue. Romero's art backs up this issue extremely well. Some interesting developments. Loved the cliffhanger for the next issue. The Bad: Nothing. Conclusion: A great showcase of Kate's character. I love what Thompson has been doing with the character and her supporting cast.

Hawkeye beats the baddie by forcing him to listen to the Sound of Music. There is lots of other stuff going on and lots of the other stuff is great but "Hawkeye saves the day thanks to Julie Andrews" is very much a thing that happens. I'm gonna roll with it because I like lots of the other stuff, but I'm not ignoring this development which could be charitably called "wacky and whimsical" and more harshly termed "corny and saccharine."

a decent silly issue with art to match. if you like that sort of thing, this issue is definitely more of the same. the strange thing for me is... I normally don't like that sort of thing, but I'm not minding it in this one. it occurs to me that this book is maybe about as stupid silly as Batgirl and the art is about the same level of quality... maybe a notch above. yet somehow instead of HATING it I'm considering that maybe it can be a book that I read just for a light story and not to take it very seriously... why don't I ever think of Batgirl that way? probably because she was on track to becoming my favorite super-hero ever, even passing up Spider-Man before they did this to her. so the difference is that this is NEW and is act more
