After a conference with Ka-Zar, Shanna, Morbius, Steven Beckley & Max, Ben tells the others of the intertwined history between Arcturus IV & the Savage Land. While looking underground for the teleportation warp to Arcturus IV, the FF find a base associated with the Beyonder (?). more

Summary: After meeting on the street, Matt tries to apologize to Mary for the way he acted before (last issue). Matt tells Foggy that he is unknowingly working for the Kingpin, much to Glori's disdain. Typhoid Mary tries to bribe a female juror in the Kelco case. Informed by Eightball, DD comes to the woman's apartment but is confronted by Typhoid Mary. DD leads her into the sewer system to gain an advantage. When DD rejects her, she tries to kill him, but stops when her Mary personality asserts itself, & she runs away. DD returns to the juror's apartment to talk to her. The next day, Matt kisses Mary when he picks up Tyrone for court. At the courthouse, Matt gives the Kingpin back the bribe money. The jury foreman, the woman who they attempted to bribe, announces that Kelco has been found guilty. more

Summary: Dr. Druid creates the illusion of a sinking ship to draw the leviathan into attacking Atlantis, thereby convincing Namor that it must be killed. The Avengers track down the leviathan to find it destroying a ship. It is shot with a viral recombinant DNA harpoon developed by Dr. Pym. The creature turns back into Marrina. "Fred Flintstone " Kang is accepted into the Council of Cross-Time Kangs & is befriended by "Nebula" Kang. While Namor is flying with Marrina, she turns back into the leviathan. Thor & Captain Marvel combine their power to try to electrocute the creature to death, but it is to no avail. The Black Knight screams & passes out after Namor plunges his ebony blade into the head of the leviathan. The leviathan sinks into her nest made of ships it has destroyed. Her eggs hatch, & the hatchlings swim away, too quickly to make out what they look like. After the dead leviathan returns back to the form of Marrina, Namor swims away holding his deceased wife. As the team prepares to leave, Dr. Druid notifies the others that Captain Marvel is missing. more

Summary: Peter tours On-Line Research in Emporia, Kansas in consideration of accepting a job offer from Jacoby, the company's head man. When an acetylene torch explodes, Peter (as Spidey), see construction boss, Wes Cassady, running at super-speed to contain the fires. Later, Spidey visits Cassady at his home to learn that he acquired his powers after being bitten by a radioactive rabbit. Cassady tells Spidey that he just wants to be normal. Dr. Nero, in the riot suit he developed, demands the plans for the secret projects the company is working on from Jacoby. Spidey confronts & fights to stop Nero. Spidey asks Cassady for help after being stunned by sonics, but Cassady declines to act. Spidey recovers to take Nero out. After arriving back home, Peter tells MJ that he wants to take the job. MJ tells him that she does not want to leave New York. more

Summary: After treating an ersatz Thor at the circus, Thor, as Blake, suspects the newly paroled Ringmaster has been up to no good. Loki sends Ulik to Earth to kill Thor so that he can be Odin's sole heir. Ulik appears in the midst of the circus & is hypnotized by the Ringmaster. Having given the ersatz Thor a sedative previously, Thor replaces him in the show. The Ringmaster has Ulik lift a 5,000 pound barbell to put it on a truck. Thor attacks Ulik after sensing the Ringmaster's scheme. They fight until Thor sends Ulik back to Asgard using the power of his hammer. The police arrive to arrest the Circus of Crime members. Thor smashes open the barbell with his hammer to reveal a national defense dual computer that the gang had stolen.

Summary: SS reads a newspaper about the threat of the Doomsday Man. He recalls seeing a concrete bunker being built on a remote Pacific island. Dr. Kronton tells some UN ambassadors about the origin of the Doomsday Man robot. It was transported to the bunker after its invincibility was realized. The robot is believed to be active due to an earthquake. SS takes Dr. Kronton to the island, where they enter the bunker. SS is attacked by the Doomsday Man. It grabs a cobalt bomb stored in the bunker & jets undersea to San Francisco. A skeptical SS gets Kronton to admit that he planned it all in order extort money from the world. SS gets the robot to release the bomb. He creates a deep hole under the robot. Before falling, the robot kills Kronton when he rushes toard him. SS then harmlessly detonates the cobalt bomb in space. The onlookers think that SS let Kronton be killed. more

Summary: Iron Man takes Eddie March to the hospital after Eddie's fight with the Crimson Dynamo. Titanium Man breaks free of a crate underwater & is confronted by the police. Alex Niven (Nevsky) tells Janice Cord about the original Crimson Dynamo, his idol, & his desire to succeed him to get revenge on Tony Stark & Iron Man. Titanium Man breaks into the lab to take Alex back to the USSR, from which he fled. Iron Man follows Titanium Man's trail of destruction to Cord Labs. Titanium Man fires an high-voltage electric beam at Iron Man & Crimson Dynamo while they are fighting. Janice is caught in & killed by the beam. An angry Iron Man disables Titanium Man's armor, & they both fall into the water. Iron Man resurfaces, but the Titanium Man has disappeared. A weakened Crimson Dynamo vows vengeance on Iron Man for Janice's death.

Summary: The world is on the brink of WW III, which the Monocle & his associates want to spark in order to seize power afterwards. While Sue & Reed are patrolling above the UN building in the Fantasti-Car, they are hit by a Neutrak ray by the Monocle but safely crash into the river. Ben stops a building from falling down that was caused by the Monocle. Over Johnny's protest, Medusa returns Crystal to Attilan per Black Bolt's command. The Monocle distracts Johnny from his search by blowing up nearby objects. Inside the UN, the Monocle is about to assassinate an ambassador when his "camera" blows up due to Reed's reversal ray gun. The Monocle tries to escape out of a window, but Johnny melts his air-jet rods, & Ben then catches him. more

Summary: Working with the Jester, Mr. Hyde & the Cobra break into the Guggenheim Museum to steal some of the world's most valuable toys. Matt interrupts his date with Karen to go after the two villains. The next day at the DA's office, Lemuel Frye tells Matt that the three villains rented his carnival from him. Frye leads DD to the carnival where he is immediately set upon by the three villains. While DD is fighting the villains in the House of Mirrors, an angry Karen shows up with the police to arrest them. more

Summary: Cap walks the street, brooding about his purpose in life. A spy ring employs an assassin to kill Sharon Carter, who is directing a SHIELD team against them. Out on parole, the Scorpion catches Cap by surprise in his civilian clothes & knocks him senseless for a moment. Cap tracks down the Scorpion, who is on his way to get Sharon. After a brief, fierce fight, Cap knocks out the Scorpion. Cap then busts the spy ring but is unaware that Sharon has been captured by them. As SHIELD agents arrive on the site, Sharon calls out to Cap after she gets her gag off, but she is told that he has left. more

Summary: The Black Panther saves black singer Monica Lynne from being abducted by the Sons of the Serpent. Racial tensions are on display when Monica appears on a TV show afterwards. Being a black man, the rest of the Avengers agree to the Black Panther's request to take down the Sons of the Serpent alone. T'Challa infiltrates the Sons disguised as one of them. He is taken to their undersea serpent ship base but is immediately found out when he is unable to complete the Serpent Oath. more

Summary: While Peter is picking up Aunt May at the train station, the Kangaroo escapes from police custody. The Kangaroo unknowingly steals a cannister containing a vial of deadly bacteria. After hearing about the theft & public danger on TV, Spidey looks for the Kangaroo & finds him attempting a robbery. Spidey is reluctant to go all out on the Kangaroo due to fear of breaking the vial. Spidey manages to separate the vial from the Kangaroo, but he lets the villain escape to return the vial to the authorities. more

Summary: Infectia picks up a guy in a bar & turns him into one of her Anti-Bodies. The Anti-Bodies attack X-Factor, intending to hijack the Ship for Infectia before it departs the city. The Anti-Bodies expend their powers & disintegrate into nothingness. Infectia spots a new target: Iceman.

Summary: Hank tells the team about his first wife, Maria Trovaya, who he thought had been killed in communist Hungary. Moon Knight is formally inducted as the 24th Avenger. During the flight to Hungary, Janet (Wasp) recalls her early days with Hank. Upon landing, the team gets into a fight with Hank's old foes: El Toro, Madame X & the Beasts of Berlin. Hank & Janet escape while Wonder Man & Hawkeye surrender due to El Toro's poisoning of Moon Knight, Tigra & Mockingbird. Janet uses her dormant antennae to communicate with the ants in order to find Maria. Hank & Janet go to a prison cell to find the Vision & Scarlet Witch within. more

The man is revealed to be the Looter, who Spidey beats into submission. Nathan recovers May's engagement ring from the Looter's stash, & their engagement is back on.

Summary: In Shadizar, Conan takes three gold objects from two squabbling thieves. Conan meets Jenna in a tavern who takes him to a blacksmith to melt the gold objects down into a heart. While kissing, they are set upon by three red-robed men from behind, who take Jenna away. The blacksmith tells Conan that Jenna has been taken by the worshippers of the Night-God. Conan sneaks into their minerat wearing their robe. Conan sees Jenna chained to an altar to be sacrificed to the Night-God. During the clanging of the bell in the darkness to begin the ceremony, Conan is discovered as an imposter. He uncovers a brazier & sees a giant bat taking Jenna. Conan grabs a flaming brazier & the priestess as he climbs on the fleeing bat. Conan uses the brazier to ground the bat. The priestess is hit over the head with the brazier by Jenna before she can stab the groggy Conan with her dagger. Jenna encourages Conan to sleep. When he wakes, he finds Jenna & his heart-shaped gold gone. more
