But Why Tho? - William Tucker Mar 26, 2025

X-Manhunt Omega Issue 1 starts to patch up the damage. This massive storyline needed a big book to collate and conclude, giving the characters time to speak and process what happened. Read Full Review

With Gail Simone(The Uncanny X-Men) and Murewa Ayodele(Storm) as the writers who are leading the finale, it's no surprise that the ending was one that would tug at your heartstrings. With several mutants in tears, it's very clear that Xavier meant so many different things to each and every one of them. Read Full Review

Overall, X-Manhunt Omega #1 is a must-read for fans of the X-Men. It's a thrilling and emotionally resonant finale that promises to have a significant impact on the future of mutantkind. Simone and Ayodele deliver a powerful and unforgettable conclusion to this epic storyline. Read Full Review

    ComicBook.com - David Harth Mar 26, 2025

From a structural level, there's nothing wrong with X-Manhunt Omega #1. It's a well done issue with some cool scenes and good moments. But it's endemic of the problems with “From the Ashes”. It's predictable and it feels like it's setting everything up for the eventual return to the Mansion. This is how Brevoort's X-Men works; there are no new ideas and everyone already knows the goal. If you enjoy that goal, then you'll be very happy with this issue. If you don't, like me, than this issue is more of the stuff you don't like. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke Mar 26, 2025

X-Manhunt Omega #1 is a solid but flawed finale that delivers on spectacle and major shake-ups for the X-Men universe while falling short in emotional depth and character consistency. The action is grand, the stakes are high, and the future is clearly laid out, making it a must-read for those invested in the From the Ashes era. However, rushed resolutions, uneven character portrayals, and an inconsistent tone hold it back from being truly great. If you're looking for big moments and a clear setup for what's next, this issue deliversbut don't expect a completely satisfying payoff. Read Full Review

i believe in the current X-Men line, but this not it. it seems like it was just moving out of how fast it was paced, of always someone coming or something exploding. it feels like those comics were not supposed to be like that, like they try to make this story fit into their larger stories, but It does not come as naturally, because so many of those titles are so far way from what this crossover was about. At its core, it is just a dumb chase, like it was only meant to take a lot of those characters to the same place, without the proper build-up.That could have worked if we hadn't seen something like this in a while or if it felt bigger, but most of those comics are on their 9 issue. Right now it felt random. There were good moments, moment more

Words cannot express how offensive and horrendous I find this post-Krakoan era of X-Men. The battles and events of this issue feel out of place and utterly unbelievable, if not incomprehensible. The writing here is just poor, and it makes no sense to me why Scott would just abruptly give up his pursuit of Xavier between panels, more or less negating the plot of this entire story arc. If this story is just to line up a better upcoming comic by Jonathan Hickman, that’s fine, but on its own it is a dreadful failure. This feels like a story meant to promote and empower the rest of the X-line, but with literally half the books already cancelled in the next few months, it even fails at that. Abhorrent.

Bad writing, worse art. Both Simone and Ayodele have done better on their respective books, but this one reads like a rushed job. None of it makes any sense and there seem to be important scenes and transitions missing. The art doesn’t make any of it clearer either. Actually, it’s so bad, I find it insulting to anyone who still cares about the X-Men. It seems that the X-Men line reaches a new low point each new week these days.
