Duke vs. Cobra Commander. It's all been leading to this. And the ending no one will see coming!
As is the case every month, GI Joe is always the title that feels like it takes the longest for a new installment. Next issue reveals a glimpse of some potential reinforcements who might now actually be ready to join the official team. Read Full Review

Entertaining action issue is let down by some questionable artistic choices, at least in my opinion. Read Full Review
G.I. JOE #6 ends the first conflict between the Joes and COBRA with a gripping, urgent battle to save millions from a brain bomb. Joshua Williamson's script elevates the stakes to keep the reader engaged, and Tom Reilly's art is on point. Unfortunately, the script is peppered with plot holes, and the coloring is a muddy mess. Perfect dramaturgy. I’m not too excited about the coming crossover with the Transformers, as I’m not interested in that franchise at all, but the way they are introduced here is graphic genius.
I have to give massive kudos to Joshua Williamson, Jordie Bellaire, & the rest of the team on this book. It is nothing but fantastic. The first arc is now complete, and there was definitely some good surprises in this. We all have known where this was heading, and the steps have been taken to get there. I remember watching the cartoons of this & Transformers as a kid, and this comic is the things that dreams are made of. I honestly am not following the Transformers comic, not because I don't want to, but my wallet is saying NO. I do urge you to go to your comic store and get in on this run, it is amazing!
I'll be featuring this comic on my podcast Lunchbreak Reviews.
This is a good continuation to the current run by Joshua Williamson. I'm still not a fan of the art or the coloring, but the development of the story is outstanding. I love how Cobra Commander manipulates Duke throughout their battle to the point of killing the professor. Destro notes that they did everything for nothing, but Cobra Commander states how much they learned about how the Joes operate. A good conclusion to the story line. I'm looking forward to the next.
