It's a solid event tie-in that's only hampered by Bart's ongoing weird place in continuity ever since the New 52. Read Full Review

Bart Allens naive actions spiral into an absolute mess with this chapter. Waid and Cantwell speed readers into the impending danger. Georgiev and Herms set a great foundation to hold this chapter steady. The new run for the Scarlet Speedster is sure to fly fast into readers hands. Read Full Review

KPB Comics - Chris Hernandez Oct 26, 2025

The Flash #26 is a strong, fast-paced read. While the DC K.O. tie-in might leave you slightly unsure of the overall point (especially since the main DC All-In special seems to have set the beginning in stone), you won't care while you're reading this. It uses the major cosmic event as a catalyst for genuine, compelling character drama, perfectly showcasing the stark difference between Wally's measured experience and Bart's reckless impulsiveness. AIPT - Michael Guerrero Oct 22, 2025

Clearly, Waid and Cantwell put a lot of thought into delivering an interesting concept that parallels the reboots constant use of reboots DC Comics is known for. While it's unclear how big the ramifications of this story will be, it's certainly a must-read for Flash fans! Read Full Review

Weird Science - Gabe Hernandez Oct 22, 2025

The Flash #26 trades Spurrier's existential chaos for something closer to a TV pilot—well-paced, smartly structured, but lacking the showstopper punch that the premise seems to promise. Clear storytelling and kinetic art make for a better read, yet the drama is left idling on the runway. There's improvement in coherence, but the series still needs a spark to truly wow. Don't blink, but maybe don't run for the preorder list just yet. Read Full Review

Holy cow, Mark Waid's writing for the flash feels like a splash of warm water and a breath of fresh air. No more cosmic time mumbo jumbo, and just good old fun Flash writing. It's like Mark Waid never lost his touch after his original Flash run.

Hallelujah, Flash fans rejoice! Spurrier has left the building and one of the all-time greatest Flash writers, Mark Waid, has returned!! Not only has he returned, he’s back writing one of his greatest creations: Impulse! Furthermore, it’s coming at a time when the DCU is in great peril from Darkseid. Impulse has a plan that actually makes sense, but requires traveling into the past to save the future, and poor Wally has to come along for the ride. The big twist here is that Darkseid is one step ahead of them and was expecting this to happen. Cannot wait to see where this goes, but it’s off to a fantastic start, and I can’t reiterate enough what a joy it is to be loving this book again!!

The Flash #26 was a fine comic, well paced and fun but ultimately - middle of the road. At the end of the day for all of the over written narration it felt a bit pointless. I picked up this issue because it was a DC KO tie-in and it served that purpose flawlessly. Gave us all the info about the event showed the story from a different point of view … but then it does what most event cross-overs do - launches a side-quest. There was a bunch of speed-force / time travel stuff at play that ultimately takes a few characters off the board and drops them into a story that most likely will have zero impact on the overall event. It’s not likely that I will be picking up issue 27.

I was looking forward to this. Mark Waid back on Flash. Cool! This could be good... I didn't realize Christopher Cantwell was co-writing it. Well, it's not terrible, but it ain't great either. I found it very expo-heavy. A lot of tell, tell, tell; and then this happened, and this, etc, etc. Nice art by Vasco Georgiev, though. But overall it was disappointing. 5.5/10
