One of the few books I think is worth the $5 price tag.

I only read this because the cover really caught my attention and I'm glad I did. This is the first issue of Catwoman I've read since the whole wedding debacle so I wasn't caught up on the current plot. The fact I really didn't need to be in order to enjoy this book is one of the things I was highly impressed with. I've also read several Gronbekk books and was not wowed by her writing, so the fact I thoroughly enjoyed this story was a shock. The interior art is pretty mid but that won't stop you from reveling in the adventure the book offers. Great stuff man!

The premise is a little tired but this title could still have legs, we just don't see much more than the basic set up in this first issue so there's no telling. The art style of Jae Lee lends itself more to dark and bleak coloring and here that's not the case. It was a bit jarring at first but after a second read it felt more normal. Am I the only one who felt like that at first?

You can read this in under two minutes. That is always a bit of a turn off for me but the fact that the story is meant to be a more visual experience and the visuals aren't up to snuff makes it even worse. If the art was amazing I would be more forgiving but here it's just basic and very dull. I love cosmic/space horror and that is probably why I'm rating this as high as I did. I'm also glad I only wasted $4 instead of $5.

The art is amazing but King seems to write as bad as Bendis just with many fewer words. Poppycock, as Mr. King says. Time for a new creative here.

Like most genX x-men fans, I LOVE the outback era so I was thrilled when I saw the solicits for this book....and then I saw who was writing it. Blech. Imagine my surprise when I wound up really enjoying the comic. If only my 2099 books were handled with as much care. This was great and really felt like a time capsule and love letter to that era of X. However, the whole "we're here as guests in their home and they're wonderful and accepting and unprejudiced unlike the assholes we left in out homeland" garbage is more in line with the Orlando way I'm used to. I'm sure they have tv's and are just as bad as everyone else. Keeping a low profile is just as important here as anywhere! Gateway was probably crapped on here too. lol. I enjoyed the art as well. Pretty decent for a modern mini series.
