X Lives Of Wolverine #2 is an improvement over the first issue, and thats saying something. Percy goes nonlinear, and it improves the story immensely. Event books are light on character, but Percy uses it expertly here. Cassara and Martin are doing amazing work together, and this issues art is better than the last. There does appear to be a thing as too much when it comes to how much Logan/Wolverine is in a story, and X Lives of Wolverine is very much treading all over that line. While there is a lot of great art that showcases the various eras of Logan's life, the overall reasons for what is happening are elusive as the story is told in a disjointed way as it tries to expand or wrap up a lot of dragged out X-Force plotlines. This is shaping up to be a epic tale! Wolverine is my favorite character and Benjamin Percy know how to write amazing wolverine stories. This is my kind of story I love a big multilayered story that takes its time to build and has big ramifications on the charecters. This is the kind of story that needs to be read slowly and multiple times. It seems to get better with each reread. I felt the same about hox and pox and by the end of that it became one of my all-time favorites. I have the utmost confidence in this creative team and as the story starts to build I have a feeling this too will be one of my favorites. So far so great.

I'm not sure where the dislike for this issue is coming from. I thought it was easy to follow along with, and not any more disjointed than it had to be. I liked this as much as issue one, even.

I'll admit the script starts off shaky; Logan's 1900 narration is mighty trite. But things firm up nicely as the story accelerates, and the art is gorgeous throughout. Sure, the selection of scenes included here could seem random to a (very) casual reader. But there's a rigorous plot-logic connecting them all, and it doesn't take too much scrutiny to find it and appreciate it. The datafile pages -- for a change -- are really helpful. I'm still on the lookout for the point where X Lives and X Deaths connect. It might never come. If they stay separate, this is definitely my preferred series of the 2.

The momentum is picking up, but I wish the constant time jumps would slow down. It's hard to follow and detracts from the moment. Other than that, I'm enjoying the chaos.

Some great art, but I don't know what the snikt is going on. I'm hoping it starts to become a bit clearer soon so I can actually start following the story rather than admiring the art in confusion.

Not as good as the first issue, in my opinion, but still cool for what it is. It feels a little all over the place for me with the amount of times it jumps through different time periods, but I didn't dislike anything here. Cassara's art is super solid, which should be a given. Hopefully the story comes together a little smoother going forward.

Yeah, I didn't like this. A lot of the narration and dialogue is cringe, "cOlOnIaLisM iS iN yOuR bLOoD, xAvIeR", I rolled my eyes so hard at that, all the pseudo-phylosophy that Percy insists with, even though he sucks at it, all this Jean nonsense that needs to stop, Omega Red lying in bed with him which was super weird. Also how is Sabretooth contacting the Professor (if that's Xavier)? I'm being very generous with the rating here but I won't lie, this was a disappointment. I hope next issue will get better, I see Mystique will make an appearance, I've always found her relationship with Wolvie fascinating.

This is seriously disjointed it's jarring to read and follow. It's retelling things I already know and not saying enough about what I don't know. Absolute nonsense and we haven't even see the full 10 lives revisited. Cassara and Martin art's skills save this again but man is it a grind to follow these shenanigans deconstructed. This only reinforces my dislike for how X-force (2nd year) and Wolverine were written.
