You Don't Read Comics - David Harth
Apr 27, 2022Wolverine #20 is more fun than just about any issue of any X-book has been in the Krakoa era. Percy builds a great plot and uses Deadpool adroitly, making everything that much more entertaining. The art team of Kubert, Martin, and Lima are on fire, but that's to be expected with a team this good. All in all, another fantastic issue. Read Full Review

Apr 20, 2022Your enjoyment of Wolverine #20 will really rely on what version of Deadpool you like and your preferred dosage. The issue balances things for me though is right up to the line. It also doesn't quite feel like a "Wolverine issue" as opposed to a "Deadpool issue" or the start of some miniseries. Still, there's a lot to like and the direction and hints as to what's to come should be interesting. If nothing else, it's a good starting point for those looking to dive into the series. Apr 18, 2022WOLVERINE #20 was not "hilarious as it is heart-bruised. Kubert's art was not overly stellar and focused on too many smaller panel progressions and needed more detail than usual. Maybe with time, my opinion will change? But for right now, if this is the new status quo, I think this reviewer may be taking a hard pass until DEADPOOL finds his way off the title. Read Full Review

TO be honest, I found this book kinda boring. But this issue brought back life to this.

Wow! What a fantastic issue! Both the writing and artwork were tremendous. I love the layouts of the art Adam kubert continues to impress. The story was so cool too. The main part was really intriguing I can't wait to see what happens next. The Deadpool parts were hilarious while still feeling like they belonged in the story and worked well. The way the Deadpool parts were weaved in and out of the main story was brilliant. This book had it all

A fun start to this arc that introduces Deadpool nicely. Something kind of funny to me is Deadpool finding New Mutants #98 and Deadpool #1 in the back issue bin instead of on a wall or in a case. I'm not criticizing the book for that or anything, but it just made me laugh. Also, Deadpool taking over the quote page was funny and perfectly in line with him.

As a long time Deadpool reader, this issue was like finding an oasis after wandering the desert for the better part of the last couple of years. I think Marvel's struggled to hit the right mix of humor and pathos with the character since Duggan's run ended, but I think Percy has something here. The over-the-top intro narration was *chef's kiss* good and the entire running commentary surrounding DP feeling left out was both relevant to the story and perfectly meta.

I like it and I think it's a good comic. The art's very impressive, particularly the fancy layouts at the front. Mr. Kubert brings his A game. Wolverine's characterization isn't deep but it sounds fundamentally right. Deadpool also sounds in-character, but also a bit distinctive. The problem is there's just too much Deadpool. I know he hangs a lampshade on it, but still: He drags the pace out so that we just barely get to the first plot point of what looks like an intriguing story.
