Mar 16, 2020Bagley's art continues to be good. I always loved the way he draws Symbiotes and I always will. And I am in love with this depiction of Carnage with the orange glow to the eyes and mouth kind of like in Ultimate Spider-Man. The way the place Dylan goes looks is very cool, like a black inky void. Even Dylan is a silhouette in there. And of course, the thing at the very end of the issue is awesome and I can't wait for more in the next issue (hoping it does more than Immortal Hulk Venom in Absolute Carnage though). Comics: The Gathering - Nick Devonald

The art has been incredible, thanks to the talented team of Bagley, Owens and Martin. Cheap plot twist aside this issue’s been great, like all the subsequent ones. Now thats how you make fucking Dinosaurs cool in a comic book! Again Cates...Killer Character development, Eddies mental attack was so gripping I couldnt wait to see what was going to happen next and then to find he was still on the island! Shutter Island kinda shit it worked really well. Bagley is a classic and I love what hes done with this arc this issue being my favorite. This was great, Venom cant get any better.

Prelude: Venom Island has been great so far, so let's see how Cates is going to tackle this issue. The Good: Referential cover!!! I really enjoyed the dream sequence, really brings Eddie's fears to light. Bagley's art as expected was great. Dylan is proving to be really interesting. Didn't expect Carnage to take over Eddie. The Bad: Nothing. Conclusion: A great, simple issue that moves the plot forward in an interesting direction while exploring our main characters.

loved it, especially the character development at the beginning of the issue, which shows Eddie's insecurities about raising a son. Never thought I'd see that in this series, but it was great to see. The other developments that happen are also so awesome to see, and of course Bagley is drawing, so I love that. Continues to be Cates's strongest series at Marvel

Aww Dylan teaming up with his step-symbiote is honestly the most precious thing.

A big twist plunges Eddie back into the Venom Island mess, but never fear, Venom (with psychic help from Dylan) will save him from Carnage! The twists are a little telegraphed -- you can see the creators winding up for the big punches -- but no less satisfying when they're unleashed. A fun action comic, elevated by that edge of sharp character work typical of the volume.

A solid entry to venom. Bagley does his job and they add a nice little twist. Good to see more being revealed with Dylan
