Uncanny X-Men #13 is chock full of good stuff for X-Men fans. So far, Rosenberg is focusing on rebuilding Cyclops, and he's succeeding wonderfully. Man on a mission Cyclops is the best Cyclops. The team line-up is intriguing and could lead to a lot of fun character interaction. Read Full Review

The X-Men books have been all over the place in recent years, but this streamlined, back to basics approach is working well immediately. This is the kind of fresh take that was needed. No school, no neophyte X-Men and no surplus of resources. Just a team of mutants trying to make the world a better place. Sure sounds like a superior approach to me. Read Full Review

The X-Men have stumbled for quite some time and they're getting back to the awesome we've wanted. This is a great mix of some of the classic team situations we've had in the past but with an update that feels new and exciting. Where it felt like a chore to read X-Men comics in recent years (with some bright spots) I'm now looking forward to each issue of Uncanny X-Men and can't wait to see where it all goes. Uncanny X-Men #13 is the strongest issue this series has had since it relaunched. Matthew Rosenberg set a clear direction for the X-Men to go on. In doing so Cyclops stepped up big to be the leader the team needed. Along with great artwork from Salvador Larroca, Uncanny X-Men #13 is a comic book that shows the franchise is back on the road to regaining its former spot at the top of the comic book industry. Overall, this current Uncanny roster dress like X-Men, but their methods ride a fine toward those of X-Force. The question, then remains " is Cyclops' list really a kill list or a suicide pact? Read Full Review

There's a bit more handwringing about Cyclops' time as a revolutionary than seems necessary, and there's also a couple of moments where another panel beat would have helped. Otherwise, Rosenberg has a solid take on the X-Men for the era they're in, and the execution issues that have hounded the series seem to be improving. Read Full Review

Marvel's merry mutants are back, but their return has turned sour due to the lack of creative synergy between writer Matthew Rosenberg and artist Salvador Larroca. It's a shame, because Rosenberg has been telling a good story, and this issue is no exception. Read Full Review

Larroca did an excellent job in this one. The art is simply amazing and the Guru-eFX job highlights it. The plot is interesting and makes you want to know what happens next. This issue has everything, it has characters development and it has many action and great sequences. Yeah the tone maybe is dark but it seems that things that Rosenberg plans to do will have consequences, permanent consequences in the future and to be honest the X-Men franchise needs something like that.The issue justifiques the Multiple Man presence. In this 3 issues I can see and X-Men story arc. Lets see how it ends. Don't mind about the old outfits.

THE GOOD: -I love this. I really could just leave the review at that. Ever since this and the Age of X-Man event started, X-Men comics have become the things I look forward to reading most every week. -Still loving the opening to each issue. -The characters are so damn perfect. That seems to be something Matthew Rosenberg really excels at. -The writing is so good. Also, I just learned I have a badge to a comic-con Matthew Rosenberg is attending, and I think after reading this, I will be paying him a visit. :) -I'm not super-pissed about the classic costumes. They didn't look bad by any means and were nice and nostalgic. -This issue has some fantastic action scenes. -Dark Beast was great. I hope nobody put pickles o n his sandwich. -Salvador Larroca continues to prove his worth as an X-Men artist in every way possible. -The end has me interested. THE BAD: -The part with Jamie did feel a little rushed. I don't feel like it was able to draw enough emotion out of me as I knew it could have. more

I hate the costumes, but Larroca does passible job outside of it. Plot is really interesting, and cast is really fleshed out.

All the X-Men have really established by way of policy is that they're not assassinating their enemies. What, then? Rehabilitation? Mind-wiping? Turn 'em over to whatever pathetic organization is subbing for SHIELD this week? Tie 'em up in their basement until they all escape at the worst possible moment? Dammit, that's the plan, isn't it?
