Thors #4

It's all in service of empowering Aaron's new Thor, whose new series starts next week and, honestly, I couldn't be happier. Many were worried how the Jane Foster's time as Thor would fare with her entering Secret Wars with only eight issues before the crossover but Thors ends with a confirmation that this character means more than just being a "woman Thor." She's part of a long history, a long line of characters, all worthy of holding the hammer. Read Full Review

This was a satisfying ending to a series that has been mostly flawless. It had been so long between issues that I felt like I'd missed something in terms of Thor's appearance, and it would have been nice to have a bit more Loki. Read Full Review

On the whole, while this issue suffers by focusing less on the noir elements of this short arc, the whole series is still definitely worth a binge read if you missed it on the first time around. If you were expecting a standalone sense of finality, then you might be disappointed. But if you're looking for a big of fun to go with this week's Secret Wars and you've enjoyed Aaron thus far, it's worthwhile. Read Full Review

It's a shame - it was a solid series up to this point, and has a lot to recommend it - but the ending will actually take place over in Secret Wars (eventually) - so that leaves the series with an incomplete ending, and the reader let down. Read Full Review

After three great issues, this tie-in was shaping up to be fantastic, but halfway through this issue the brawling Thors break through a wall and just throw away their entire worldview after hearing a short speech from a strange Thor they've never seen before, then fly off into battle with... I don't even know, I'm assuming it is part of the larger story of Secret Wars. The characters cease to be believable and the plot is suddenly forced in a direction with no purpose as if editorial simply took over for the last few pages. It hurts the overall story, which is disappointing because it was exceptional up to this point.
