Thor is getting pushed to the limits leading up to the War of the Realms, especially in THOR #8. Jason Aaron and Mike Del Mundo send Thor through the crucible of Heven, and he emerges like a God Boss. Terrific action, great art, and nice supporting cast moments! Read Full Review

This story (rather jarringly) shunts readers back to the present. The dialogue is good, and the art is magnificent, but the structure is haunted with difficulties not least the writer's depiction of women. Thori remains absolutely delightful. Read Full Review

This is Del Mundo's best issue yet. Whether it's the Angel prison ship, Odin forging hammers or just Thor and Angela floating in the cosmos, he makes it all look stunning and his ethereal art style is a perfect fit for this issue.

This is just Thor being Thor. A nice done-in-one that continues to set things up for the War of the Realms while still being very entertaining in its own right. Plus, this issue starts to involve Aaron's Avengers. So it'll be nice to see whether these two titles become companion pieces, as well as what role Asgardians of the Galaxy will inevitably play. And if Infinity Watch is more connected to The War of the Realms than previously thought.

Thor and Valkyrie bust Angela out of an ill-defined Angel prison. Thor's story looks and sounds decent enough, but it's the flashes to his supporting cast (which is stretching nicely to include the Black Panther now) that are really delightful. I have a laundry list of plot nitpicks, but none of them are big enough to spoil my enjoyment.

Comic was cool, but a bit annoying. I didn't read infinity wars or the new revamped avengers, so I missed a huge chunk of the story. It is what it is, but still, annoying.

You didn't really miss much. The pertinent information was given. Simply that Loki helped reform the Avengers and got involved with the recent war over the Infinity Stones.

If anything's going to affect Thor, it'll be Avengers and War of the Realms, since those are all written by Jason Aaron. So maybe start reading those if you feel like you're missing out.

I can’t get over how bad the art was. Like, this issue was almost unreadable for me. Aaron’s writing for this issue is solid as usual but not enough to prevent Mike Del Mundo’s art from ruining the issue. Half the time I couldn’t tell what he was drawing. 90% of the issue their is no background. I saw another review that said “Mundo draws the Angel’s ship amazingly”. Well guess what, he didn’t draw the angel ship. Yes, Thor, Angela, and Valkyrie were imprisoned inside the ship yet Mundo’s background was blank white.
